  1. Exactly. It gives something to work on for next year. Especially if it's a close run last five games. I'm still hoping against hope that we're able to pick ourselves up for this run in and go out with a fight.
  2. Guys, there's a lot of energy getting spent fighting over a moot point. As the numerous examples posed so far have shown, we can't possibly separate winning cups vs winning the league. They are both important and the whole is greater than the sum of its parts on this. Would anyone accept winning both cups each season for the next ten years and never winning the league? No. Would we accept winning the league every year for the next ten years but never winning any cups? Yeah, probably. Does that mean the cups are shite? No. They're still an important indicator of success and a great occasion.
  3. I wasn't being sarcastic, I was agreeing with you 🤣 FS! We've been far too reliant on Tav for far too long. The team shouldn't be relying on a 32 year old right back pulling them out the hole all the time.
  4. That's definitely a big part of the problem.
  5. I just said something similar in another thread where folk are calling for Tav's head. I don't think we should be getting rid of him but we really need to change the emphasis on him being the main driver for the team. The right back should be the warm up act for the main show, not the main show.
  6. I agree Goldson and Lundstrum need to go but I don't agree with Tav having to be off. I think the problem with Tav is that we rely on him too much for our attacks/goals and when our midfield and forwards are doing fuck all there's this expectation that Tav should be doing something. I think Tav's been shite for the past 3 games but if he had a more reduced role in an attacking sense he wouldn't look anywhere near as bad. But if he does stay he can't be Captain.
  7. Mate, while I agree that Tav, Goldson and Dessers have been underperforming (although maybe for Dessers this is just performing!) Tav is the team captain and only two weeks ago picked up a World Record - he's not getting dropped. Also, I thought most people had settled on Dessers not being good but being "our guy" for the rest of the season. I do agree Goldson should be dropped but then if Clement dropped him for Balogun and the latter had a stinker he'd get pelters for that too. I agree Sterling should be considered a mainstay in this team but, as others have said, it's may e due to injury management. Yesterday was a sore one and lessons have to be learned but I don't think Clement was completely wrong in his choices.
  8. The thing is, everyone is a genius with hindsight. Ross County had only won 6 games all season up until yesterday - there's a reason why they're second bottom. We shouldn't need a full strength team to beat them and I think that's a fair assumption for the manager to have. But, it's clearly not the case and we need to go full strength from now until the end.
  9. See when you read the responses from the filth with their conspiracy theories on why we want it called off you realise how warped their minds are!
  10. I'd say I'm half full today but still disappointed. The league is ours to lose. It's mental gymnastics from that lot to say the league is theirs to lose. We have the potential for more points than they do. The first half gives no confidence that we can go to the midden and get any sort of result but the second half does. As @The Godfather says above, and I hadn't really thought about it, we scored 4 goals in one half yesterday. It's definitely going to be a bumpy ride to the end.
  11. The thing with Sutton is most of the time I think I knows he's talking shit and he's just doing it to be a troll/push the agenda. Whereas, Stewart is that fucking warped he's believes the shite he's spouting. I don't know which is worse.
  12. Yeah, unfortunately, I agree.
  13. Appreciate I'm a bit late in replying. No, that wasn't his career stats, it's with us. I can't find the tweet again but even Wikipedia has him on 59 games with 26 goals for us - not far of 1 in 2.
  14. I was sure I saw his stats last week that he has either scored or assisted (and in that number it's mostly scored) a goal every two games he's played. He'd only played like 90 odd games and missed 60 odd in his time here.
  15. Fuck sake! 🤣🤣🤣 If that's been like that since 9am there was no way the game was gonna be on.
  16. Yeah, I mean, thinking about it options are:- 1. 3 points, no injuries; 2. 1 point, no injuries; 3. 0 points, no injuries; 4. 3 points, injuries; 5. 1 point, injuries; 6. 0 points, injuries. One, possibly two, of those options has a favourable outcome. The other 4/5 don't.
  17. That's good. A sick feeling came over me thinking that I quite liked them 😂 Although some might say that's questionable taste anyway 😅
  18. Fair point but I just think if we were to not win today other injuries we'd all be saying we shouldn't have played. I'm maybe just being overly cautious Although I don't think playing three games in a week v Scottish teams has the same drain as a midweek Euro game
  19. I thought the lead singer from The View was a Bear?
  20. I seem to be in the minority here but, while I appreciate the positive of going into the break on top, the guys emptied the tank on Thursday so running around on a tattie field isn't only gonna stop them playing football but will also tire them quicker both of which could lead to a potential banana skin here. I'd rather wait and hopefully get a few back then play them midweek. The lads will be far better rested for playing such a game.
  21. Ally was bad for not leaving anybody upfront when there was a corner against us
  22. Folk going on about the corners but it was one time they scored with a few feet between the player being offside or onside. It's not like it happened multiple times and each time we lost a goal. It was a gamble that didn't pay off. Everyone tried their best tonight and gave a good showing. Some were off it and some weren't. We dust ourselves off and move on.
  23. Fair comment. I've no idea if Lens and Sevilla are any good and it seems like Arsenal kinda ran away with it and there was only 1 point between PSV and Lens. However, it's still no small ask to qualify from a CL group.
  24. I don't watch the CL so I wasn't sure who was in the last 16 but I'm seeing PSV made it out their group. Kinda puts our result against them into context.
  25. To be fair, he had Hibs performing pretty well and knows the league. Plus, he'll squeeze that extra effort out of the mutton molesters whenever we play them - which is probably about half of their reason for existing. But he's certainly not the guy I'd want managing my team if I wanted to be the 3rd force in Scotland.
