We have been utter pish for a long long time and in truth deserve what we get unfortunately. Never been much lower as a gers fan. Totally toothless performance today when the complete opposite was needed, and rightfully expected! First and most important new signing is a top quality manager who can build a competitive squad. Nothing against SMcC as I think he did what he could in the circumstances but we must improve in all areas, starting at the top.

I agree that our players seem to be stifled the other night playing in front of a full house. Hopefully on the return in front of a predominantly away support it allows our players to go out and play better, much better. The big worry for me is our defence as it has been all season. Motherwell will no doubt sit in and hit us on the break. We have to be much harder at the back.

Tactically we were shocking tonight. And what the hell has happened to Wallace? He looks a man totally devoid of confidence , so frustrating the way he runs up the wing and then seems so unsure of himself before either giving the ball away or passing backwards/ sideways. Totally gutted at result. Of course it can be done but we need to play the game of our lives in the second leg.

Thank god for that, well done Gers. If they had scored sooner we could have been in real trouble but we're through that's the main thing. Need to work on keeping hold of the ball better for the final, too jittery by half for me .
