That sums up why Souness was a failure as a manager when he wasn't being bankrolled by Murray. Nothing about improving players, nothing about making best use of Murray Park to bring through talented young players, nothing about getting more than the sum of their parts through good management. Just "buy better players". Honestly, why do folk still listen to this complete clown? A great player in his day but a complete dinosaur in his thinking nowadays, Thats my honest opinion lads & lassies - legend for our club (but that was the best part of 30 years ago FFS)

I still love our countries football team (although we have been pish for nearly 2 decades) & I'm sure our players that get picked (just like the past) think of it as some of the highlights of their careers.

There was nothing new in there for anyone older than 45, but it did show (in relatively simple terms) the point in which our game imploded and the actions of greed and self-interest from which it's never really recovered. David Duff, Wallace Mercer, David Murray et al....all dickheads of the highest order. Thatcher's children. Even Graeme Souness came across as being proud of his part in destroying our game as we knew it. It struck me as to how easily it was/is to lead your average football supporter down a path to a point that they know is going to lead to disaster......especially when you have a fawning press backing up your every move.
