HMRC hope to threaten/scare the average punter into payment. Their demand is an assessment of what they think you owe. It is just like getting your leccy bill in when they haven't had access to your meter. HMRC are also famously incompetent, and also famous for making it up as they go along. Imperial Tobacco were approached by HMRC for tax payments from smuggled Golden Virginia which they had seized. It had nothing to do with Imperial other than customs said that they must have known people were smuggling it due to the quantities being bought at the airport. So in other words, they were somehow responsibe for multiple independent third parties actions!!! That will give you some indication of how they work and what total chancers they are re their "demands". Others might suggest they are just wankers.

Your right that he knows who is who - and thats why he is bringing his own guys in. Not everyone there can be trusted to do the best for the team - some are considered to be doing whats best for themselves. This leaves Ally with little choice but to bring folk in he knows will work for Rangers/the team and not just to make sure their career moves forward. That is the difference and thats why (at least for the time being) I am happy the men he has brought in are beyond reproach on that issue. I do appreciate what you are saying though, and I feel that what you are hoping will come in the future, but only once we are back on our feet financially.

TBH I am amazed that people think any person in their first managerial position would have any advisors/support staff/scouts around them that they didn't know and 100% trust. Whenever you start a new biz or there is a takeover/buyout you always put your guys in to ensure it gets done the way you want. Once things settle down and its moving forward the way you want, then you seek out those persons to take you to the next level. This is normal biz practice, and a sensible and safe way of doing things.

Getting taken over by one of those f#ckers would be worse for me than going under.

Gazza hattrick to win the league. I was in my seat in the East Enclosure with my brother and father (we all sat together for years). A wonderful memory that will live with me forever. Rangers winning in style and being with my family - Rangers and blood. It doesn't get better than that.

Some interesting comments re Bomber/Durrant and the so called bullying. The way I heard it was along the lines that Sir Walter had made sure they turned the screw on the young ones to make sure they stayed off the bevvy, arrived on time, etc. Some of them didn't like it and thus you get stories like that. I am sure they threatened some of them with a beating, but I am also sure some of them deserved to be threatened - we can all behave like arseholes with the bevvy and players, etc are no different. Lets just hope we get good service for our money from M and B for next season and fuck what happened in the past.

We are not limiting our scouting to the UK. The scouts will be traveling extensively including the Americas, so that doesn't sound like local snooping around to me. I am not surprised Ally has brought in folk he trusts. Its a big difference from assistant to being in the hot seat and he must have 100% men around him. Bomber and Murray fit that bill. I haven't read the full thread as it appears to full of keech, but from what I can see, question asked and answered. The paper asked the question, and the excerpt was printed. WTF is the issue? Anyone who thinks SA is out of line is an imbecile. The other day we had a comments re SA having to wear at a suit at the games - a point I agree with I might add. This was agreed with in general by all, which basically represents how we feel re being a Ranger - respect, standing, better than others, etc. Then we have the same folk complaining that he is doing exactly that - behaving like a true Ranger - respect, standing, etc!! This of course was when he is dealing with/talking about the t*rriers. Just because they disrespect us doesn't mean to say that we do the same. We may want to, but I truly believe we are better than that. That is of course my own personal opinion. Any loser on here slagging SA should be ashamed. A man who gave his all, and a man who fought (literally) his team mates and the scum for his Club and Country, and he will give his all again. Shocking.

He is building his own back room staff as well for next season, so it would have come out next month anyway. I assume this is why its being announced now.
