  1. Surely this is not the first time in a UEFA competition there has been such a problem. And if there's precedence of other Russians not getting visas on time then Ufa messed up big with their preparations.
  2. Last night we beat a team that beat their beloveds not so long ago. Of course we were lucky and cheated and dived and were lucky and no way could we have deserved it. And lucky of course.
  3. Josh wore the jersey as if he were too good for it at times. Has the ability but needs people to adore him for what little he does with it.
  4. Dean Windass has great potential at Scrabble. No need for punctuation there either.
  5. All we need to catch them is to properly gel the squad, a new striker, a backup CD and a bit more creativity in attacking midfield. Bad injuries and plenty bad decisions could cost us. For them to stay in front they need to avoid certain key injuries, keep plenty of arrogant bigheads in management and above happy, learn to deal with losing against us and not lead the league possibly for a bit, deal with fan pressure when things are going for us and not them, sort their defence out and deal with (we can hope!) a few decisions going against them. I don't doubt that this season or next we'll be getting the upper hand cos our problems now/soon are much easier to deal with and we have the right management and (most of the) players to do it. Let's hope the board doesn't fail...
  6. There needs to be some kind of punishment for refs misapplying rules. Fine that they might miss something, that happens, but to clearly not understand rules is not acceptable. Examples from our last game: Morelos was never violent conduct, always a yellow, as should have been the defender; May was clearly violent so give a foul, you give a card (should surely be red); Ball in the box made no attempt to get the ball, straight red; Arfield made no reaction other than to not back down when attacked, given a yellow for standing still; ball thrown at (not to) our player out of frustration, yellow card as the rules state. That's 5 clear decisions that would have impacted the match to a greater or lesser extent. Refs need to be hit in the pocket, while good refs with a good track record given some kind of incentive, maybe financial as well as the big games including recommended for Europe, etc. At the moment they're getting away with it and it's not good enough. Even the ex ref paid by the Scotsman 'newspaper' agreed with the above about Morelos and Ball so why can't the SFA/SPFL pay him to look over decisions and feedback to them?
  7. Yeah, saw that sad bit in bold. Deliberate attempt to sweeten the greengrey hordes of bbc faithful. Pathetic.
  8. What would the great JW have thought of today's JW?
  9. Should never have been given longer than a 6 month contract. Carrot on a stick.
  10. Sorry, I thought the thread was about Rodgers' comments on the Logan abuse. What point were you making?
  11. Which Rangers manager (or any other employee) has made comment on this, never mind tried to play it down, deny it or rationalise it?
  12. Go to the bottom of the page, click on the link to the previous article. It's about Rangers. All of it! And the 3 articles before that. celtc do come into the one before that so that's 2/6 i looked at so your almost right... sort of...ish...
  13. Yeah, you started a career where you claim you have no spare time, while I already have a career and no spare time but I should start up a second career on your whim? Time to stop chasing down the rabbit-hole of this argument, Dude, it doesn't work. You have the opportunity and refuse it. Fine. But stop pushing your 'failings' onto others!
  14. Thanks for the clarification in bold. At least you're very clear now as to your understanding. And regarding your first line, the you are basically stating that someone with zero experience of journalism, zero direct contacts in the game, zero spare time, and zero opportunity can become a ground-breaking journalist? Tells us something of your journalistic standards. I started posting to you with the line 'It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you're...' and I'll finish our conversation there. I don't need to say anymore.
  15. I'm not a journalist. You are. You have the opportunity. I don't. I would if I could. You won't. Stop trying to push it back on me. Clearly you are fully embedded in Scottish 'journalism' regarding bias. The vast majority here are not. Sorry, didn't quote, this is @The Dude
  16. Shows us how you see things. A great opportunity is spelled out for you, you junk it. Re connections, you have them now, as your last line just stated. I have neither those nor time but your incessant attempt to avoid my encouraging you by throwing it back at me is pointless as I have already shown. Never mind.
  17. So journalism is your job but you don't want to do journalism? Or do you only do journalism when someone says 'You write this and we pay you that.' You do realise that if you actually write a really good piece of journalism people will pay you for it. There is a great opportunity at the moment... Our new manager objects to several decisions on the field, Scottish press ignore it or attack him, in the meantime the English pick up on the story... You have a great opportunity to get in there with a ready made article about Scottish media bias, even against Gerrard. The English press will pick it up, run with the story, show up the amateurish locals, you get to defend the club and look good on here and maybe it opens a door for you in the national press or at least become highly respected in the game... Or maybe you prefer to keep doing what you're doing, meaning the DR gets to tick their box that they're providing a service to us Gers fans with your columns. Me? I'm not a journalist, I don't have the connections or access to the resources necessary and I already have plenty work. You're probably the best placed on this forum to do this. What's putting you off?
  18. Your question is a red herring, just seeking to avoid answering my points. And it was implicitly answered already in my first post. But as for having a really great story right in front of your face, all you think of is someone paying you. Not really in the spirit of true journalism, eh. You have the opportunity to really show Scottish 'journalism' up for what it is. In this thread alone a number of posts even provide you with the research needed. If you can't be bothered (or are too scared to upset your paymasters) then at least it is clear what kind of journalism you've chosen.
  19. Point being none of us would expect a celtc shirt and a negative story unless unavoidable. A number of posts in this thread document the fact that the DR et al. happily employ any tenuous link regarding Rangers and a negative story. The fact that you seemingly don't see this points to this problem being utterly endemic in Scottish journalism, or just a prerequisite to getting a job. Break the mould, Dude, investigate the story and share your findings!
  20. It's better to keep your mouth shut, @The Dude, and let people think you're ... The amount of time spent defending a really weak argument could have been donated to one's employer by at least doubling the DR's stash of free Eboue pics! And if Eboue, or anyone else so tenuously linked, was in a DR (etc.) photo wearing a celtc shirt I would never expect the story to show him in a negative light.
  21. PLG prepared really well for man management in Scottish football. Monster Munch should be part of a footballer's staple diet. Boyd's 2nd stint was marred only by bad luck. Kenny Miller should be managing us now. Naismith is still a fans' favourite. Whittaker was the best RB we've ever had. The Wee General did not need a large budget. Green was loyal. Whyte was stable and transparent. King is transparent. We deserved to play 4 games in 8 days. And, believe it or not, Dalcio was not the most effective player for us last year.
