The problem is with scottish football as a whole. For many years we have neglected our grass roots, i have said before when my lad was young he loved playing but the pitches were frankly appalling and coaching was a lottery mostly dependent on enthusiastic fathers whom themselves were not professional and the professional coaches were often expensive or focused in the cities. There is also the issue of we offer our children to many activities and do not focus or specialise their talents in one area. Children are now to be jack of all trades and masters of none.
