  1. The truth is that none of our squad are good enough, without exception. Not one of them. A ragtag collection of lightweight, mediocre players. Fod is good on his day, very good, but this is about consistency.
  2. So this is how low we're setting the bar. Could have a fuckin limbo competition now. 26 year old no mark from Brentford. You couldn't make it up.
  3. We need at least 20 million spent on players and a good solid, pragmatic manager. All this director of football shite is a distraction tbh.
  4. Sometimes losing a manager can somehow galvanise a team. Let's hope that's how this one goes. No way of knowing at this point.
  5. I think he would get us playing more solid pretty quick. He also has long enough to make the job his own if the results are good.
  6. McLeish to steady the ship sounds ok to me. This is about substandard players and people assuming Warburton wasn't getting the best out them should wait to see how they perform from here on. We need 4 or 5 in if we are going to put a distance between us and Aberdeen.
  7. They are utter garbage apart from Miller and Fod. None of these guys will ever be good enough no matter who manages them.
  8. Wishful thinking imo. I reckon if it went to a tribunal it would be: 'no letter of resignation therefore you fired Warburton; pay up plus legal fees'. Hopefully we settle. Anyway, it's not dramatically important now. What matters is the new manager.
  9. All this speculation about the exact way Warburton left will get settled in court. Either way, Dave King is trying to save Rangers money. He is no mug, and realises that from every angle the next appointment needs to be right. His statement puts the emphasis on us being solid (I assume he means financially as well as in football terms). He also seems to think his long term strategy is now effectively a year behind.
  10. Correct. That should not rule out all of the listed candidates, but this appointment will probably determine whether or not we can mount a title challenge over the next 2 seasons. 3 really successful signings for around 6 million (or hopefully less) could put a totally different complexion on the SPL competition. We need someone/a structure that is successful. Put pressure on the current leaders and they might buckle. I don't think we will win it next season, but this is football and nothing is certain. Absolutely crucial appointment.
  11. It's complex IMO. We are at the same level as Aberdeen. With sound spending we will be better than them next season. Don't think we will win the SPL next season tbh.
  12. What do you mea?. Dave King has put in 18 of the 30.
  13. I'm not putting much weight on that caveat. We have 12 million left, and are no further forward after spending 18 million so quickly. That's not really a hopeful sign.
  14. Absolutely. Should be barred from the stadium imo
  15. This is a nightmare. So, there's 12 left. How the fuck can we get out of this shit if we've no money.
  16. No way have we got cast iron documents concerning Warburton resigning.
  17. Nobody think the new manager will already have been selected? I think it's a virtual certainty or we'd not have let Warburton go till next week.
  18. Dunno mate, he seemed pretty balanced at that presser. I reckon we'll negotiate a settlement, and I think the way all this went down suggests we have our new manager lined up, someone who will be trusted with the funds and will now have time to settle in for next season.
  19. Warburton: “What’s going on? This is scandalous, I’ve no idea what they’re talking about. “I haven’t resigned. I’ve never resigned. I’ve no idea what they’re talking about. “I was advised by an email to read an urgent letter. But, I tell you, I haven’t resigned.” I reckon we have no letter of resignation. We will have to pay compensation. Either that or Warburton has gone completely raving bonkers and we have aforementioned documents in our possession.
  20. This will go to court or we will settle. There can't be any letter of resignation or Warburton would not have claimed that he didn't resign. Depends how stubborn he is, and how much he demands. Probably seen as the best option by the board to clear the decks and give the new man time. It's also very possible/likely that we have our man lined up, and (with cautious optimism) it is someone who will unite the support immediately, someone who is to be trusted with increased funding. A little bit of mess, but surgical in terms of speed and impact.
  21. Don't get this obsession with poring over the train wreck. Human nature I suppose. Bottom line is how do we get rid of MW and who comes in. The players are terrible with a couple of exceptions, but sometimes a new manager gets more out of guys. This is optimistic I know, but I can't see how we afford a new manager and a whole new team.
