With us having 4 strikers who all want 1st team football I wouldn't have thought that one person in our team gets the majority of the goals. If anyone does do that though I'd put my money on it being Garner.

His movement is definitely his best attribute, couple this with a passer (barton/niko) and a dribbler (windass/forrester) and we're onto a winner. this is why I think our best two midfield combinations are rossiter niko windass/holt or barton holt windass

Stability which we don't need in the CAM position! If that stability was put to use in his best position, he'd be more than effective.

Where are you getting this from? Barton was in the championship team of the year last season and rossiter has been decent but not amazing against far worse teams.

Oh I see your point. Yes I'd be surprised if it becomes a common trend for that to be the main attribute required for a keeper. Pep is pretty unique in the way that every position in his system prioritises midfield play. If anything I'd say the game is going the opposite way in the sense that possession football is almost going 'out of fashion' if you like after Leicester's antics.

I think this will be our worst patch of form in the whole season with new all the new players settling in, finding our best team and adjusting to the new division. If we can be picking up points during this period then it has to be a good thing, this stage of the season could determine where we finish up at the end as I think we will look just as good as the filth by October, so if we can keep within touching distance up until then, I think we have a very good chance.

Spot on OP. I'm starting to think the fault does not lie with the players but the team MW is picking. Our whole bloody fan base can see that midfield doesn't work when it has no energy going forward, and he addresses the same problem that we can all see in his press conferences but doesn't pick the team to solve the problem? Hoping it's just because Holt and windass are injured but then again why isn't he playing Forrester in midfield?!!?

Mate barton would be a massive improvement to our team if he gets playing well in his best position(cdm). If anything krancjar is a luxury- tries hard and has the odd moment of brilliance but I'm beginning to think he is hamstringing our midfield more than he's improving it with his lack of energy. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong when he's fully fit but atm its not working out.

First half today was the worst I've ever seen him play. Thought he started very well in the second half and was personally gutted to see him getting taken off.
