Can't argue with any of that mate but when the news broke today I could'nt help but think back to a news report I seen recently, sky sports news I think, It was about Ashley in talks to finally punt Newcastle, If that did happen and I know it's a big if he would then be free to increase his shareholding in Rangers and possibly even mount a takeover bid if he so wanted, From his point of view getting Rangers into Champions League would probably be easier and less expensive than doing so with Newcastle, I am more of a cynic than a conspiracy theorist and just wondered when this news broke if he was trying to take a leaf out of Big Daves book and build bridges with an eye on the bigger picture.
