  1. I did find Walker clamouring for a red card rather hilarious, given he dismissed Lustig kicking out at Lafferty early in the first half as just part & parcel of the game, and was generally supportive of the ref not booking celtic players.

Yep spot on. Ejaria cost us today. He didn't track his man into the box but ultimately should've brought their man down on the half way line.

He should have been taken off early into the second half, long before the goal. He's been improving with each game, but wanted far too much time on the ball for this fixture and just never got into it. I still think he can cause celtic problems in the future, but he'll need to grow up fast in regards to the difference between playing Motherwell and playing celtic.

Really hope Coulibally is back after the international break, as we've really missed him since the St. Mirren game. I honestly think we'd have beaten Motherwell with him in the team, and our midfield wouldn't have been so dire today. (Don't think he allows Rogic to make that run either.)

Ask if 5 points from 12 is good enough.

I expected us to have at least seven points - aye, obviously I wanted twelve - at this point, so it's far from good enough. We've again not taken advantage of celtic dropping points to Hearts, and it's compounded by conceding injury time equalisers away to Aberdeen and Motherwell.

I do still expect us to now put together a run of wins in the league, though we're again going to be relying on them to drop points.

I don't see the hysterics that are being implied in this thread,if we can't say the manager got it wrong today we just become another Follow Follow.

I think he's gotten it wrong a few times, but over the course of thirteen games there are definite positives. Coulibally and Grezda should make a difference too. Hopefully we return after the international break and can go on a winning run in the league. Four points behind celtic isn't insurmountable, but it will grow and become just that if we don't start seeing out games like the Motherwell one.

Yeh, good point, like everyone else, I've been well pleased with the improvement in our defence, last week was brutal, lessons learned hopefully mate.

I think the resolve the team showed in Russia, despite Ufa having a two man advantage, will have done wonders to restore any confidence lost after the Motherwell game.

Looking forward to that wee junkie shite bag Griffiths trying any shite with big Katić or Goldson.

    Caulker

He was being linked with celtic after activating his release clause, but wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in. He is/was a talented player, with years ahead of him. If he was coming in as a guaranteed starter I wouldn't be keen, but as a squad player I think he's a decent option - plus there's less risk of it leaving us in the shit if he does have more struggles with his mental health.

We could have a season of over sixty games, so I'd be expecting any unattached signing to be a centre back, be it McAuley, Caulker or someone else.

Mate I usually agree with you on most things but there's a lot wrong here. Ian Black's treatment I agree was poor but that was at Easter Road and not a true Scotland support.

Strachan suggesting Wallace should move on for the sake of his career never mind international career is common sense. In hindsight it's true. Wallace has absolutely sacrificed a lot to stay and can hopefully be rewarded by playing a part this season and winning some medals. Hopefully a league medal being one of them.

As for the national team I really don't understand why any Scot wouldn't support them because as a player It must be amazing being recognised by your country and getting a cap. As for Griffiths aye he's a cunt but in our national colours he's a cunt representing Scotland, not the manky mob.

The national team may have too many of their players for our liking but it's entirely our own fault as we've been pish over recent seasons and actually don't have many Scottish first team players now that I think of it.

    .

That's patriotism, which is all fine and well - but not everyone is a patriot. And the concept of patriotism is less straightforward in Scotland due to the continued attempts by the government to push the romanticised myth that Scotland was a fully Gaelic speaking nation, or that we were one with Ireland. (Speaking of Ireland, was Griffiths representing Scotland whilst waving an Irish tricolour in the celtic end?) They're pretty much trying to shape what the Scottish identity is and revise history, so it's not that surprising that it puts people off, given that a good number of the tartan army crossdressers are their target demographic. Even before then some in Scotland considered themselves British first and foremost.

I chose to support Rangers as a boy as they were my father's team, like he supported them as they were his uncle's team. (My papa spent most of his childhood in Oldham, so supported Man City then Third Lanark upon his return, so my dad didn't exactly follow on in his dad's footsteps.) Rangers games are still something that my dad, my sister and me have in common.

I didn't, on the other hand, choose to be Scottish, so don't see why I'm expected to have some automatic allegiance to them. Especially in an era where having a Scottish grandparent is enough for you to represent Scotland, even if you'd never stepped foot here before being called up. International football is just a bit of a joke to me, so -  whist I appreciate it means something to the players - I couldn't give a fuck if they're called up or not. If they don't return injured and their value increases then great, but other than that I'm not fussed.

He didn't exactly have a great team or manager round him ffs. Played his whole career at a good level

He played his best years as a full back and was moved more centrally as he began to lose pace. Defensively, he's absolutely dross; he's not a centre back, and doesn't have an understanding of how to play that position.

Personally I didn't like the whole him,Miller and Murty saga, the three of them should've been sacked imo and nothing will change that.

But Lee kept his mouth shut while Kenny ran his, at the end of the day Lee deserves his last days in the sun.

I think Gerrard giving Wallace and Halliday a clean slate was a bold decision and has ultimately shown to be the right one, and I'm impressed with how they have responded to him.

The events of last season don't enhance anyone's reputation, though Miller comes out of it looking the worse, in my opinion. His agent more or less confirmed they put his name forward for the interim manager position, and around the time Pedro was sacked Keith Jackson was pushing for Miller & Wallace as the managerial team. I think we're well shot of Miller, but if Wallace and Halliday have a part to play this season - even as squad players - then it's good that their Rangers careers don't end on a similar low as Miller's.

The officials must have trained with the SFA referee's to be that inept and useless. However no Red cards for our players to be over ruled so all good for us but certainly not up to SFA standards.

No way the ref was trained here - he was actually giving us free kicks.

 sorry pal I was just messing around, I knew what you were saying. We could do better than Jones.

No need to apologise, I was laughing at "What's your point?" and got that you were joking. Was totally stumped at how to reply to it. ?

Who said anything about changing them completely?

You posted that Gerrard gets more out of players, and I took that to be in response to the criticism of Jones not tracking back.

Gerrard has definitely improved the confidence of some players and they all seem to know their jobs, but there's so far been nothing to suggest he can take a winger who doesn't track back and change him as a player. It's not just getting him to do one thing differently, as it changes his entire game; Jones exploits the space Killie have available on the pitch, and is usually able to because he shirks his defensive duties. That won't cut it with us, as he won't be afforded so much room and time by teams, and be expected to help out.

I don't think he can change that much about Jones, but I don't know if he was like this before Killie or if it's a tactical decision. I'm guessing Allen is familiar with him from his time in England, and maybe it's something Jones is capable of doing but he's neglected for whatever reason. But based on anything I've seen I'd agree with you in him looking more like an O'Halloran type rather than someone like Candeias, who does a lot for his teammates.
