He was playing deeper but not as a defensive midfielder, just the centre of a 3 man midfield it’s where he looks most comfortable because he doesn’t have to do all the running at his age and can focus on playing the ball forward.

If we are going to win the league next season we surely cannot be thinking he can play every game and be our main defensive midfielder, that would be buts IMO.
He isn’t playing as a defensive midfielder and I doubt he’ll play every single game next season. He’s been class since he got back to match fitness.
