Rangers are the current holders of the League Cup, having beaten Dundee United on penalties after a 2-2 draw 12 months ago.

Rangers have not lost a League Cup final since going down 2-1 to Aberdeen in 1989/90.

Rangers have won the League Cup on 25 occasions. Celtic have lifted the trophy 13 times.

The last Old Firm League Cup final was in 2002/03 when Rangers won 2-1.

This is the first Old Firm final as manager for both Walter Smith and Gordon Strachan.

Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist hit a hat-trick when the Light Blues beat Celtic 3-2 in the League Cup final of 1983/84, a year after Celtic had won 2-1 against their rivals.

Rangers won the very first League Cup final, beating Aberdeen 4-0 in 1946/47.

Rangers have lost only six League Cup finals but one was a 7-1 defeat to Celtic in 1957/58.

My favourite ever Football match. Watched it on an old video a hundred times since It dropped through the letter box in 1988! Incredible game and atmosphere
