ricksen_da_best 2,034
HIBS have landed former Rangers midfielder Alan Gow on loan until the end of the season. The 27-year-old Plymouth outcast is reunited with John Hughes, who signed him for Falkirk in 2005 before selling him to Rangers two years later. Hughes had been linked with a move for Gow for much of January but Hibs only announced his capture with barely two hours of the transfer window remaining. Gow told the Edinburgh club's official website: "I'm delighted to be joining Hibernian to the end of the season and looking forward to working with John Hughes again. "I know how the gaffer likes to play the game, and how well the team are performing at the moment, so I can't wait to meet the boys and start training." Hughes added: "Alan is a player I admire tremendously, and I know what he's all about from our time together at Falkirk. "The supporters have been fantastic since I've been at the club and it's always good to give them a lift at this time of year, so I'm delighted to get Alan to Hibernian for the rest of the campaign. "He adds more real quality to the squad, and will hopefully raise the bar again in terms of what we are trying to achieve." Gow started his career at Clydebank in 2000, before joining Airdrie in 2002, where he remained for three years. He then shot to prominence after joining up with Hughes at Falkirk, becoming one of the Bairns' most influential players, making 82 appearances and scoring 18 goals. The 27-year-old joined Rangers on a free transfer in 2007 but struggled to break through at Ibrox, subsequently spending time on loan at both Blackpool and Norwich. Rangers sold the midfielder to Plymouth in August, and he has made 10 appearances for the Pilgrims this season. All the best Gowser.
