So why are they saying that we don't have enough money to offer 8 first team players new contracts?!

1st_Jan_1994 4,868
I think it's very simple...1 of the 8 players who will be out of contract in a year looks to be on his way out, Thomson. My guess is that Thomson wanted more, over and above the wage cap of what did we say? £17/£18 grand a week?If a player wants more than that to resign on a new contract, then it doesn't really matter how much money we have in the pot for transfers. The wage cap is totally different and in place so that we don't run ourselfs into so much debt again.I think it's straught forward and sensible. We won't be able to attract top end Champions League standard players with 17 or 18 grand a week, but that's another debate for another thread probably. Jimfanciesthedude 24,925
Who says we haven't any money to offer these guys new deals? Just because the papers say we will accept bids for them doesn't mean fuck all.Fact is, every player at ibrox (and the piggery for that matter) has a price,

You've fairly came out your shell the past year or so. It wasn't that long ago you were getting left behind in Motherwell and turning up late for buses. If your incapable of letting someone else have an opinion on the club without getting up tight and offensive then maybe your better ignoring a few of my posts. colly1873 15
might just be a way of putting them in the shop window, we don"t wanna loose anymore players for nothing and maybe the board think we could ut abit of the debt off with selling them before they might go for nothing next year!!!
