cooper1989 0
I think LB is a must. No longer impressed with Big Sasa. I know he's popular etc... but to me anyway, he's taken a step backward. He gives players far too much space to get a ball in the box etc.. gets caught drifting inside etc.So a LB and another winger.. and we're good. J-Maestro 11,780
I see a permanent transfer in next couple of days and a loan signing from a player who doesn't make the 25 in EPL.
rossDas 1,071
Walter did say the spending was pretty much over but does that necessarily mean we can't take a player or two in on loan, or on a free transfer? I suppose we can't rule out the possibility of players leaving either.
Jimfanciesthedude 24,932
we already knew we had more money, Walter was just playing the mhedia at their own game saying that was the spending overi fully expect another 1 or 2 quality addidtions to our teamffs ya miserable bastard, stop pissing and moaning about murray and bain and enj................................ oh wait you were being positivemy mistake

rfc_no1fan 13
I think that if the right player was available for the right price, £1-2million might be made available to Walter.
grfc1975 1
if this is true then great, i hope there is some left for the next transfer window and hope its not all blown.really pleased with the three signing made this week but just worried that we might need to add to the sqaud in janif we have some injuries or players out suspended. ritchieshearercaldow 22,242
I just love reading this, over and over Rangers will also benefit from city rivals Celtic's failure to reach the Champions League group stages.Because the national pot would have been split between the competing clubs, Rangers will not now have to share a likely £10m

pessimistic_pete 2
Rangers' £4m capture of Nikica Jelavic might not be the Scottish champions' last piece of business before the closure of the transfer window.Walter Smith had said before the Croatia striker's arrival from Rapid Vienna that there were no more funds. But it is understood that there is still further money for the manager to use if he wishes to strengthen the squad before the transfer deadline.Until this summer, he had not signed a player for more than two years.Debts of more than £30m meant that Lloyds Banking Group had forced the club to implement severe cutbacks, especially in player wages. However, figures are expected to be announced in the next month or two that will show that Rangers have wiped out a substantial amount of their debt.Rangers have achieved this by major cuts in their playing staff and such items as cleaning bills and maintenance. The summer departures of Kris Boyd and Kevin Thompson to Middlesbrough, Nacho Novo to Sporting Gijon and Stevie Smith to Norwich City have also reduced the wage bill.In addition, a transfer fee was paid by Boro for midfielder Thompson.Unlike most clubs, who have bought players in instalments, Rangers have paid up front and therefore do not have such a burden.Rangers will also benefit from city rivals Celtic's failure to reach the Champions League group stages.Because the national pot would have been split between the competing clubs, Rangers will not now have to share a likely £10m purse from their participation in Europe's premier club tournament. All that means that Smith, who has been claiming about a lack of depth and experience in his squad, still has a limited amount to spend should he feel he requires to add to his squad.Jelavic became Rangers' most expensive purchase in eight years when he completed his move from the Austrian club on Friday.Rangers had already recruited fellow striker James Beattie from Stoke City and winger Vladimir Weiss, who arrived on loan from Manchester City.http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/8934340.stm
