the brown brogue 1,910
Besides if his fitness and possibly attitude are what is holding him back then I'm confident playing at a club like Rangers and having Walter Smith as his manager may change that.He would be a big gamble and in our current finacial condition he is probably to big of a gamble. But if we came into a little bit of money I think we could do a lot worse than Eremenko, yet again we could probably do a lot better aw well.Like Smith changed that with Gow, Webster, Adam, Boyd, Boli, Negri etc etc?Seriously I dont know where the myth comes from on here that Walter is some kind of specialist in turning players careers around. GaryMc 2,394
Like Smith changed that with Gow, Webster, Adam, Boyd, Boli, Negri etc etc?Seriously I dont know where the myth comes from on here that Walter is some kind of specialist in turning players careers around.Well he got the best of of Boyd eventually.Gow was just shit.Negri was performing on the park. As for Adam, his major problem was our fans. Everyone was quick to get on his back if he tried and failed and making a killer pass then his head would go down. Walter's only problem with Adam was that he didn't let him play CM. Impatience from our fans was Adams biggest problem. Look how he's doing at Blackpool with fans who appreciate him and let him do his thing. What can he do about Webster? he's not a miracle healer.Does Gazza not count? Does David Weir not count? Allan McGregor? Steven Naismith this year? Kenny Miller wasn't exactly in his best position career wise when Walter signed him and now look how important he is. Don't think anyone can doubt he can get the best out of players and get them giving their all.
Muff 245
Walter Smith wont be here forever, he's not going to change his style of play, especially in the business end of a season.I wouldn't be too sure about giving players like Eremenko a 2/3 year deal - comfort zone, foot of the gas, back to his old self... it's a chance you take with players like Eremenko. I certainly wouldn't be paying millions in transfer fees and wages for him. Let's be honest here. He's got well over a year of his contract at Metalist remaining, is supposdly on £20k a week and certainly wont be going for £1m or less - just not worth the fee, or hastle IMO. A player who does not have the fitness or energy levels to last 90 minutes should not be playing for Rangers.
