He had a terrible first 6 months in a team utterly beset by injuries and who were changing from 3-5-2 to 4-4-2 on an almost weekly basis.He had a reasonable end to the season, and had quite a decent 01/02 season playing as a holding midfielder. Think McCulloch of 2009/10.Obviously a poor signing at £4 million and quite a poor player, but nowhere near bad enough to be considered for our worst ever player.
