mrwin 393 Posted September 14, 2012 Share Posted September 14, 2012 HOYAM could hardly have been more impressive when winning the Roses Stakes at York last time and looks the one to be on in the Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster today (1.15). She had a noticeable change of tactics from her previous run at Ascot over 6f, where she had pulled her way to the front and had nothing left to offer in the final 2f. Back over 5f last time, she was held up in last place, and had to be switched as the eventual runner-up Fire Eyes strode clear, leaving Hoyam with four or five lengths to find approaching the furlong pole to overhaul a horse who was himself pulling away from the remainder. Hoyam mowed Fire Eyes down with ease, though, Spencer merely nudging her out to win without being asked a serious question, shaping like a filly at the top of her game. She was clearly suited by the good pace that day and there should be a similar scenario here with Bungleinthejungle in the line-up and she can confirm herself a very speedy 2yo here.
