Scapegoat Edu is back

Horrendous display from most, possibly all of the players today including Davis in a midfield that was awful overall, yet again Edu seemed to be the one getting most of the stick from the stands. Even in situations where he has no support it's still all his fault.

The guy has faults and didn't play well today but it really gets on my wick how much of a hard time he gets when you can pick out several people who have played worse than him and not got that.

There was, yet again, another point where he got out of a tricky situation with the ball but the fans were groaning in the stands as if he had given the ball away even though he got given the ball in a very awkward situation. Then fans have a go at him for trying to stick his foot out at a wild Allan Mcgregor clearance as if he passed it right to the opposition (something quite a few of our players were doing today). The guy cant win. He got stuck in more than some of our other players today and never bottled some awkward challenges, he wasnt great, nobody was today, there is no denying that but the stick Edu gets is ridiculous.

The gaffer get away with it as usual though? Sending players out on the pitch when they are badly off form, setting the team up with absolutely no width, allowing players to take the field who cant be arsed, taking to long to change things, even thinking 1 man up front could do it when hooking mcKay(thankfully he fixed that when Kane came on later on but too little far too late)

Edu was dreadful today but so were all 4 midfielders who were dominated by mediocre opposition.

The fans who left early when the game was at 0-0 should also be ashamed of themselves. When the players needed support the fans turned their backs and walked out on them. Shameful.

Edu was far from the only let down today. Our midfield struggle as a creative force without wee Naisy in the side and there is no one in the squad that comes close to filling the void left by Steven's absence.

Steve Davis looked a shadow of the player he can be when the Scotland front man is in the side which is more than a little worrying. :disappointment:

Edu was never the worst today, Davis didn't contribute and has been off the pace, as for Bedoya and McKay ...

I had high hopes for McKay for filling that hole left by Naismith, after today I saw he just doesn't do the same role. Naismith will be our biggest loss of the season IMO !!

the frightening thing is that edu get criticised for things that arent his game, i.e trying to get things moving in the attacking sense, whereas as someone says above, davis gets a get out of jail free card because he is defending too much

if davis focused more on attacking then edu can perform his proper duties defensively and both look better

Absolutely laughable the stick Edu is taking on here, I'm not a big fan of him but he by far and away the best midfielder we had on the pitch today, Was the only one that looked like winning a 2nd ball and the only one of the midfield trying to put in a challenge, people were shouting at the fact he didn't pass it out quick enough, he won't pass it quick and IMO is asked to break up play and pass the creative stuff onto Davis, who did not deliver !
