delparlane 5,753
And only lowlife scum would give them a reason for them to kick us when we are down. It's a double edged sword. We are up shit creek without a paddle at the moment... fines, bans and anything else is the last thing that we need. We need to play the game and be seen to be whiter than white (excuse the pun)M8, with all due respect, it doesn't matter a jot what we do - we could stop all singing and be more pure than Christ himself and those bastards would be scrabbling to find the nails and wood. I'm with the others on here that say enough is enough - we HAVE to stand up to this and demand parity. The utter hypocrisy of the baying mob and their hysterical, finger pointing witch hunt is absolutely ridiculous.
OlegKuznetsov 10,816
NOW see us as an easy target? We've been an easy target for years because no-one would speak out about the double standards.Fair point.I should have stated that this would be even more so than previously. cd true bluenose 86
Why can't the people sing what they want?because we would offend the poor wee tims
cd true bluenose 86
Why can't our club show some bottle for a change and defend us the way the Mhanks board does.We are an easy target cos we won't stand up for ourselves. The reason the Mhanks get to sing what they want and we get pulled up is the fault of the club. One hint of criticism of th they go nuclear and cry anti catholicm backed by statements from their church academics and even Eire's govt.We release this pishy statement which amounts to an apology for acknowledging our heritage. We have been going down this road for years and they are smelling our weakness and putting the boot in.It's time we stated we accept their Irish roots respect them and demand others respect our Protestant loyalist roots and stop apologising and demonising people who wish to express perfectly legitamate songs and views.Rant overgood rant
FlippinEck 3,734
Dont think the SPL/SFA can punish if we are being seen as actively trying to do something about trouble at games and this statement backs it up. Pretty sure thats the rule.
jimgers 565
An embarrassment of a statement, it's like Murray still has his say in our club.
Thermopylae 15,287
It's about time the club publicly asked why we are being singled out. This is the problem we have no leader at the moment and it makes us a big sitting duck

pastra 38
Why is it always someone else's fault, or someone else does it. It was a foolish move at time when every media outlet was watching. Who cares what other teams do, they will get what is due to them. We can rise above the gutter they lay in most weekends!

Who cares what other teams do, they will get what is due to them. We can rise above the gutter they lay in most weekends!how can you expect the fans to have any respect for the 'authorities' when faced with this situation.the media outrage all centers around the use of 1 word. the sensitive F word. We all know it's not secterian, but the way the media go on you'd think everytime a rangers fan use it a catholic somewhere in the world dies. The fact that it's not secterian has only been bolstered by the slime themselves, they also know exactly what the word means hence the McCourt chants/banners.at the same token, this country has to endure the IRAoke every weekend, and the slur h*n being sung, with no objections from the same 'authorities'. a level playing field should be the least we expect. Did the mhedia lambast brines for incompetence? No.Did the mhedia focus on one song? YES
