Should we be worried?

It's not a couple of Sheffield United fans making people wary, it's commonfuckingsense that's doing that.

Caution is the word. We shouldn't be condemning ourselves to death over him making some cut throat decisions at Utd.

IMO, fans are going to be fucked off with this guy because he will most likely run our ship much tighter, but that's the price to pay for our survival.

If player sales are what we're worrying so badly about, then a few members should rethink their stance on other bidders, because they would likely have done the same thing.

I'll be quite happy to see players punted if they won't accept deep cuts. The pay structure at the club has been a joke. That isn't to say that people shouldn't be aware of who we are dealing with.

Agreed, but I stress the word caution, and reject "worried" "panic" or anything of that nature. One thing we could really do without just now is have our fans in the anti-Green camp. The news channels have already got hold of a bunch of people and edited their interviews to make it look as though we're not happy with this guy.

I'm cautious myself, and you will all probably see me slating the guy by Christmas, but I want him to save Rangers in the meantime so I'll hold back any negativity for the sake of not being a panic merchant and looking too far ahead of myself.

He did not say that. Did you even watch the press conference?

RANGERS’ new owner Charles Green yesterday claimed he was “mad” to buy the club.

Three months after Gers went into administration, 59-year-old Green was unveiled as the front man for a mystery consortium of buyers.

He said: “People say, ‘You must be mad to want to go into Rangers.’ I am mad then, because I do want to go in and I want it sorted.”

But as he met reporters at the club’s Murray Park training ground, Green raised the spectre of liquidation by admitting he was “not confident” of achieving a company voluntary agreement (CVA) that would preserve the history of the club.

And he stunned journalists by asking them: “Do you want to sign a cheque for my consortium?

“Give me your name, give me some money, let’s get it cleared and you can be part of the team. I’m not going to turn money down. If I can raise £1billion, I’ll raise £1billion.”

Supporters wanting to find out who the shadowy money men in Green’s consortium are, and how much they are willing to invest, were doomed to be disappointed, though.

All Green would say was that they wanted to “do it for the right reasons”.

He added: “We are not dealing with people of disrepute.”

Green also revealed that the days of a single person wielding power at Ibrox were over – as none of his backers will own more than a 15 per cent stake in the club.

But, ominously, he revealed that he faces a race against time to organise a CVA – and the club are very much staring into the abyss of liquidation.
