Maxo1873 201
Really? Teams like Tottenham, Man Utd etc were looking at (scouting) him a couple of seasons ago and he signed a new deal because he didn't want to move.

Teams like Tottenham, Man Utd etc were looking at (scouting) him a couple of seasons ago and he signed a new deal because he didn't want to move.Because big teams looked at him once or twice doesn't mean he was commited to signing a new deal. I wonder what his reaction would have been had one of these clubs actually rated him enough to put in a bid.
LeeWallaceRFC 3,920
Get a grip! Who told you that?? Ferguson? Daniel Levy....or the Sun and Daily Record? If Man Utd or Spurs were interested in anyone from the spl they would just come in and sign them. Grossly over rated. The fact that there are so few decent keepers around and still nobody wants him says it all.Allan McGregor is overrated? World Class/Breathtaking goalkeeper. And that doesn't even touch some of the World Class saves that he's made, saved our arse on plenty of occasions.
derek1872 548
Say what you want about any other player who has left the club ... but you can't deny McGregor's commitment to the club over the years. He could have left on a free years ago and went and played in the PL, earning 50k+ a week. But no, he would rather play for the club he loved in an environment that he loved rather than chasing the money. There are a few players that you can't say that about, because their quality doesn't match that of the PL. But McGregor is a World Class keeper who deserves to play on the big stage. Imo, the only keeper who would give McGregor a run for his money in the PL is Hart. When McGregor can perform like that behind a defence of Whittaker, Imagine what he could perform like in front of a defence including Kompany. Yes it hurts, but McGregor could have left on a free years ago.At no time in his career has McGregor been in a position to command a wage of 50k per week. Thats an absurd claim. The guy has nothing to his game bar shot stopping. A concrete bid from a club in the EPL and he would have been there. No bids ever came and for a very good reason. The only club to show any real interest in him are the 4th best team in a poor Turkish league. The guy has no contract and can be picked up for nothing and still some refuse to see the reason why only this team is interested. If he was world class he would already be at a top 4 club in the EPL, La Liga, Seria A or the German league.

derek1872 548
McGregor hasn't saved us on many occasions from 1 on 1's?Listen mate you are totaly deluded. I admire you though for the loyalty you show. Nothing wrong with having blue tinted spectacles sometimes. You are however way way off the mark. The guy is a free agent, why isnt Man U who could be doing with an experienced keeper not knocking down the door? Why not spurs whose keeper is 41? Why not Arsenal? You say world class, here is a world class keeper - Buffon. If he went out of contract and he was a free agent, do you think Besiktas would be the only club looking at him? Do you think he would go weeks without an offer from anyone?

You are now given a link from 2 years ago that clearly states Redknapp wanted him on loan to act as cover for Gomes the worst keeper ive seen in the EPL. A world class keeper acting as cover for Gomes  Casillas can be number 3. Im begining to think you dont like McGregor and you're trying to make him look a tit lol. derek1872 548
Allan McGregor came close to a last minute move to Tottenham Hotspur on transfer deadline day. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has admitted that he failed in a loan bid for the Rangers goalkeeper, as he tried to find cover for injured number one Heurelho Gomes and second choice Carlo Cudicini, who is out for the season.Moves for Portsmouth’s Asmir Begovic and Watford’s Scott Loach fell through for Redknapp on the last day of business and he turned his attentions to McGregor, only to be rebuffed by the Ibrox club.World class though!
