cambyloyal 20
After recent goings in within the club mainly cash worries Ive been thinking should the board bring in some sort of wage cap with players getting say 25% of their wages garunteed then the remaining 75% win "bonus" so to speak and mabye 50% for a draw. It gives the players extra incentive to go and win every game (I know as pro's they already do) and if they do draw/lose its means money for the club which could be used elsewhere like getting auchenhowie back up to standard.Thoughts?? Could it work or would it prevent players actully coming to Ibrox
AlCapone 7,678
And what do you suggest we do with those already on a contract? No it wouldnt work, players will only sign for guaranteed wage or they will go elsewhere.
dougied123 222
Surely we need to pay wages that attract the right players. That doesnt mean we go back to the way we were, but if our wage structure doesnt attract the players Ally wants then it works against the club. Im sure Mr Green will ensure that the budget is adhered to.
Moraybluenose 99
The players and their agents would just laugh and walk IMHO
MasterD 7,442
In a time when players move for money I don't think that would work.
Grumpybear 24
Surely with the mercenary bastards that fucked off off the books, the wages will be well within the clubs means. As long as we have decent crowds we can pay decent wages and attract or keep good players.
gersandy 594
Wouldnt work. You'd struggle to get players to agree to that. There will be a wage limit, but it wont be made public.
ianb1547 3,767
would you work for a guaranteed 25% of your wage...with the rest as 'possible' overtime?Me neither.
