Corky True Legend 2,682
With France having banned advertising of alcohol, is it right that sides sponsored by drinks companies have to black out their logos when playing away to French teams. These companies have paid for media exposure and are entitled to it. Surely this is politics interfering with football. In my opinion, French sides should have to play their "home" games outside France if they are drawn against such a sponsored team or an amendment should be made to the legislation exempting "foreign" sides from the ban. Of course, nothing will be done as Platini is French. By the way, do they black out games played in other countries where alcohol is advertised? Serious question as I honestly don't know. AyrshireBlue 449
Away teams in France usually aquire a one off sponsor so they don't lose out.Rangers had Centre Parcs for instance.

G.E.C. 18,816
Oddly enough, I do remember CL games in France had Amstel and Buckler advertising boards years ago.
