If that's true (and I don't think it is) its bullshit.

As far as I believe the club get the fine from the SFA not the player. The player then as part of his contract and code of conduct then needs to pay the club. These fines will be ridiculously minimal so the club can then decide to dock wages etc dependent on the seriousness of the offence. IMO that's the correct road to go down as the sfa fine is no deterrent.

I'm not sure if it's the same in Scotland but I believe clubs in the EPL start to get proper fines as the cards mount up, say over 5 yellows in a single game, fines can then be £20k and upwards.
