Let's see if BBC Scotland have the nerve to boycott their showpiece sports event, or at least one of the sides in it. Would love to see us running round Hampden with the cup and our players giving Chic and his cohorts short shrift when they come sidling up for an after match interview. They haven't said they're boycotting Rangers games, they said they're boycotting Ibrox. So yes, they would show the final, but like you said wouldn't run any interviews on camera. Pure_Quality 3,295
Here's a great example of how Rangers supporters are losing out because of the BBC and their daft, self imposed 'ban' on reporting about the club. If you're on the BBC website looking at the match report you see this link to the Gaffer being mystified about AH's red card. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35406375 But when you click on the link, because they've 'banned themselves' from the press conferences, we've no idea why he was mystified. Contrast this to the comments on the Daily Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3416529/Rangers-boss-Mark-Warburton-left-fuming-Andy-Halliday-handed-bizarre-red-card.html and the Evening Times http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/14229399.Rangers_boss_Mark_Warburton__bemused__and__frustrated__by_Andy_Halliday_red_card_at_Cappielow/ Now, I'm sure we a lot of us will agree the BBC output has been shit, and McLaughlin has rightly been banned, but like it or not a huge number of bears will use the BBC as their main source of news and info about us. That being the case, we shouldn't be denied hearing the managers comments simply because a regional part of the sports network can't be impartial when discussing our club. For a Rangers supporter to have to go to a commercial publication to get the news about their football club, because the state broadcaster is petty, childish and parochial isn't just disappointing, but is completely unacceptable. I hope Rangers don't back down on this one, because it's the BBC that are in the wrong here and need to change, certainly not us.
