They were traditionally associated with the police, and the KGB. CSKA Moscow were the army team still part owned by the ministry of defence. (Abramovich is involved with them too) Torpedo Moscow were associated with the state car factories. Lokomotiv Moscow were the railway workers team, and were owned then by the Ministry Of Transport.
