The name of the game is winning and football can be ruthless that way. I do get what you are saying that it would be harsh on someone. If BG happens to be better than what we have then he plays. Loan signings happen all the time throughout the world in hopes of making the team better for the now rather than the later. If he can help get us deep into Europa or qualify for next years group stages then he not only makes us successful but a lot of money.
