feda16 136
I know in recent times it has been valued as the "mickey mouse" cup however im sure most of you would agree with me that i along with the club was desperate for this, i cant believe how relieved i feel and how good i feel about myself, its amazing, i know the tims will mock it but we've got it and it could be the 1st of 4 and todays performance certainly showed the mark of champions. Anyway to summarise this is an extremely important cup to us in modern times and its definately looking like the first of many
Canadaready 9,437
It was necessary at this point in the season. Failure here would cast into doubt our ability to finish it off when it matters. Putting a wall up against Bremen after we were gifted 2 goals is much different then winning a competition.
Craigy 0
It's the start of many and will set us on our way and settle the nerves now we've got the first one out of the way
delparlane 5,720
Always hated the "Diddy Cup" tag myself, whether it's for this or for the Uefa Cup. Easy for desktop warriors to spit that out, a lot harder for true men to lift it.

Exactly, standing alone this cup is inferior to the scottish cup, uefa cup and league - however failing to deliver it could have caused a chain reaction that could well have dented our league/scottish cup hopes. Winning the CIS cup, particularly the manor in which we struggled through will have the added benifit of boosting out confidence when our backs are against the wall... which, id imagine, is the only way we could win the uefa cup (probably against bayern)
mark_ni 12
dont care what the tims think about it. We havent lifted a trophy in nearly 3 years so this one is a bit special. I bet they wont think its such a diddy cup come may when they have an empty trophy cabinet.
MacWoodburn 2
It`s a famous old trophy and we`ve won it again for a record 25th time!!! It`s also a vital part of "the treble" so forget the diddy cup thaggers!! GIRUY !!WATP!!!
Danny 9
Winning today was beyond crucial. It was a vital cup, even if it's the 'lesser' cup. We needed a trophy, and how good does it feel to win again
rossDas 1,071
Who cares how big it is, it's a victory. The tinks can say what they like but if the CIS final is diddy then that makes them effin microscopic cos they didn't even make the final!
Bluepeter9 5,167
It may be diddy to some - but celtic, aberdeen, united, hearts etc. etc. would all gladly be in our position tonight!!
simplythebest 11,453
Was vital for us today, if we'd lost i think things may have gone downhill, one games can change the whole course of a season, just look at Arsenal. Ending the no trophy run was so important.
cooper1989 0
The League Cup is not a diddy cup. We've now won it 25 times and to see a Rangers captain accepting a trophy at the National Stadium fills me with pride indeed.
