James_Dean 0
Was just looking at our co-efficient and european ranking and it is pretty good. We are now seeded 26th in Europe with a co-efficient of 62.766. These rankings are used to decide who falls into each of the pots when making the champions league draw. At present we are likely to be in pot 3 but if we improve our co-efficent any further we may squeeze into the 2nd pot. Think we need a couple of teams seeded higher than us to not qualify for the champions league or get knocked out in the qualifiers but there is a real chance we could be in pot 2. That would be a massive boost for next year as you would avoid the bigger teams in the champions league. Would make progression to the next 16 a lot easier. Gaffbear 4,104
I'll be honest with you The Champions league is becoming predictable and boring////////i'll be cheering on Chelsea but it's always the usual suspects in the quarters and semis every year. UEFA cup has variety...and alot of pish teams i suppose
CanadianGer 1
Is this possible? Would be nice if true but to move two pots in a year? Does the performance of the national team count here also?

James_Dean 0
The national teams performance doesn't matter. It is purely based on the co-efficent of each team. Werder Bremen were in pot 2 last year and they had a co-efficent of 63.640. Is a better co-efficent than we have but if we progress in the UEFA cup and get lucky with a couple of teams with a better co-efficent not qualifying for the group stages then it is entirely possible we could be in pot 2. WVB 2,560
We'll win it. Only a catholic conspiracy from uefa can stop us (like when they stopped us defending our trophy last time). Uefa must be fuckin' beelin.

Its quite a jump for us but its possible. Pot 3 at the mo but need a few teams above us not to get to the CL Group Stage to jump to pot 2. Also, IF we win the league we could go straight to the Group Stages skipping the mine-field that are the qualifiers, IF the CL Winner this year qualifies for next seasons CL Group Stage directly from their Domestic League i.e. at current Man U, Chelsea or Barca. It might be possible after all! Actually I think I might have got that wrong. I was thinking of how the calculation works for countries, not teams. We have five points available to us and that would take us above Juve. Tall order though. As for the country contribution to the co-efficient, I think (hope) that's all ready included. If not Juve would obviously get more for being an Italian club than we would for being Scottish.
