Random thought came into my head today, how many cities and towns in the UK have more than 1 professional football team?

London (13)

Manchester (2)

Birmingham (2)

Sheffield (2)

Bristol (2)

Nottingham (2)

Liverpool (2)

Glasgow(3)

Dundee (2)

Edinburgh (2)

10 cities then?....

United are in Trafford, although they are literally round the corner from the the border for Salford.

coming out of exile here....hey everyone!!!

Manchester United is in trafford....trafford and the city of salford are both in Greater Manchester

seeing though you have included teams in Greater London then you should include teams in Greater Manchester as Manchester

so

Bury

Oldham

Rochdale

Stockport

Bolton

Wigan

Manchester City

Manchester United

can be classed as manchester as they are known collectively as greater manchester.....depending on how far you want to take it

going back to lurking now lol

Watford and Luton are just outside London, the equivalent of Paisley for Glasgow.

It was in jest, last week i saw Luton play Bury and they sung about how much they hated Watford. So to try and tell Bury fans they are in the same town as Bolton is absurd.

None of them are professional teams though, they are all semi pro! But there are loads in Belfast, you missed out Crusaders, Donegall Septic, Dundela and H&W Welders.

Greater Glasgow sides.

Rangers

Celtic

Partick Th.

St. Mirren

Queens Park

Albion Rovers

Airdrie

Hamilton

Motherwell

Greenock

Dumbarton

Clyde

Glasgow clubs, old and new.

Rangers

Celtic

Partick Th.

Queens Park

Clyde

Clydebank

Third Lanark

I believe if Clydebank and Thirds were professional, Glasgow would have the most clubs outside London. Clyde are techinally still a Glasgow side.
