  1. I disagree with this as the board appointed the DOF so it would ultimately be the boards fault if they have to get rid of him as well. While he is here I still really hope Pedro can do it. I just seriously do not know what the board were thinking when they appointed him. It was always going to be high risk.
  2. He definitely became one of us mate and it still shows.
  3. If your basing it on what we "saw" of these players in a Rangers jersey, Ferguson was a better player for us. The fact Van Bronkhurst went on and done well elsewhere doesn't change that imo.
  4. I could tell you stuff most ex players have done or said. Walter Smith included. I get pissed with a lot of the stuff our ex players come out with but I weight it up against what they done for us. What Barry achieved well outweighs the bad.
  5. It's amazing how little an ex-player has to say or do to 'warrant' some of the shite that gets said about them on here. The guys was total class, from the first game he played for us to the last. Without directly quoting them, someone on here said that Reyna and Van Bronkhurst were better than him. That's nonsense. Ferguson was the best player we had, both in his earlier spell and his latter. The quality of the players around him only goes to show what a player of outstanding ability we had. Doesn't matter what he says or what he writes. Whether for the daily record or anywhere else. Most of my Rangers supporting years I was lucky enough to go and see Rangers with Barry Ferguson playing for us. What we do for him now.
  6. Too many fans slaughter our players for being pish, and sometimes when they are also blaming the manager at the same time. A lot of people are saying they don't give a fuck because they left us but I think it's massively important to us right now and what happens this season. Its a sign that things are not right and havnt been right going back to McCoist's time as manager. How many transfer windows have been happy with transfer activity only to be let down? Not all these signings are bad players. It's the managers and the tactics that are the issue. We need a manager that can get players playing to the best of their ability. Had another managerial appointment been made you might have seen a few of these players still here and doing the business. Also, I'd say this thread should have stayed in Bears Den. The players are gone but it relates specifically to us.
  7. You can't just sack a manager on the back of a reaction to any one game. He's had 3 competitve domestic games with something closer to being his own team. Won 2 and lost 1. The one we lost was a bit of a farce to be fair.
  8. You don't see any other managers acting like that but I don't see the point in making a big deal out of it. Best for the fans just to forget it and focus on the football and the match with Hearts.
  9. This is what I understood to be the norm: 2 players push heads together - both are booked 1 player headbutts the other player - red card 1 player intends to headbutt the other player and doesn't make contact - red card Player makes headbutt motion with his head but doesn't intend to make contact with the other player - it should be a yellow If he did make contact with that motion it's a red. If he didn't make contact then the appeal could be on the grounds that there was no intent and it might get downgraded to a yellow. If the ref has mentioned in report there was either contact or intent to make contact then I reckon the appeal will just get thrown out.
  10. Jack shouldn't have been moving his head like that I agree. I'd probably say that without clear proof the benefit of the doubt should go to the player but I can't see the appeal playing out that way.
  11. I think a lot of the red card talk is probably diverting from the main issue and that is that Stokes should have been sent off. Not once, not twice but at least 3 times. A red card at the start and then second bookings on 2-3 occassions.
  12. Nowhere near as bad as people were saying. I've also been extremely critical of Caixinha like many others, and I would still say he is unlikely to be the man that can take us forward, but you can't blame the manager or team for yesterday's result. The ref was a disgrace and the game was a farce. If we are beat by Hearts next week then fair enough but using the hibs game alone to repeat the same stuff we heard after the last bad result is a bit unfair.
  13. Don't worry I perfectly understand your point. I just don't believe for a second that the ref or assistant refs seen Jack either headbutting another player or try to headbutt another player.
  14. I didn't think you were saying the ref was shite one way or the other. My first response to you was just to make the point that headbutt motions without contact usually are not red cards. My last response was because you said it was "self explanatory" that the referee had seen intent but at the moment we don't know that is the case. Also, if both players heads were together, they should both have been booked. Stokes would have been off with it being his second bookable offence.
  15. It's highly unlikely the ref has seen a player intend to headbutt another player and miss. (and that should also be in his match report if that's the reason). From your post your assuming it is the reason. Either way you look at it the referee would still have made the wrong call. And he's made more 'mistakes' on top of that in his inabilty to apply the laws of the game fairly to both teams. Both in this incident and elsewhere during the game.
  16. 'Aggressive' motion of head with no contact is a yellow unless the referee deems there to be intent to make contact.
  17. Up there with the 5-1 game? That's nonsense mate. It's nowhere near it. We were beat 3-2 and played most of the game a man down. I'd also say that although they are newly promoted they do have one of the stronger squads in the league and will probably finish in the top 4 or 5 this season. They will also raise their game for us every time we play them so we will always find it more difficult playing them than other teams will. I realise that for us to have a successful season we need to be beating Hibs and Aberdeen but decisions definitely went against us today and it could possibly have turned out differently. So, I think we have to give the manager and team the benefit of the doubt on this occasion.
  18. Some might be expecting the referee to even it up but I honestly think he's just as likely to send another one of our players off first.
  19. I wouldn't normally blame the ref for our problems but in this match he's played a big part in how it has turned in their favour. They have been getting away with everything. Absolute disgrace.
  20. Bit harsh saying he is not even close. In terms of appearance and goal stats, as well as honours won, he's surpassed a few others who are probably in the "legend" category.
  21. Your making that sound like it's easy. You can't just kick the ball "huge distances" you've got to hit the ball at a precision pace and the faster your moving the harder it is. To do it to 3 times in one run is impressive. But I agree with the sentiment that we should not get carried away with anyone after 1 performance.
  22. See to be fair to Josh Windass, most of the criticism on here over the last few weeks has been well OTT. Just about everyone in the squad was pish last season. That doesn't mean they are all pish players. With the right teammates, tactics and guidance a couple of the flops from last season can come good this season. Windass is moving in the right direction. That's a positive. Let's back him and he may continue to improve.
