  1. Santiago Wanderers green strips were inspired by the Irish FA, one to avoid. Joking apart they have a British history in their origins too.
  2. NEIL LENNON WONT WIN NINE IN A ROW, NINE IN A ROW! Get it right up them. Re-set let’s go (again) Get it right up them, the only silver lining to this shite
  3. I didn’t say I believe it but I’ve heard it from a usually reliable source it’s an option being looked at. sadly for us they still win it here in that case
  4. Rumours that the EPL will cancel the season and use the xG model to forecast the remaining games. In which case Man City win the league.
  5. Everton players self isolating now but yet we plough on. No leadership in this country at all.
  6. I think he has to be given another season as a minimum. I’d like to think the people around him who he puts his trust in will help him see that being stubborn and relentless as a manager is not the same quality as it is in a player. Man management needs to improve too but it’s hard to have that perfected in your late 30s.
  7. Do we have to buy our seats before tomorrow? I don't remember receiving an email this time.
  8. Most of them are his players and Tavernier will never lift a major trophy as Rangers captain. I’ve said it before on here and I’m saying it again. Don’t give a fuck who gets upset with this, there are many other better managers in this league in terms of tactics. If we’re keeping him which really we have to financially he better got shot of his backroom team and get on the phone to Tommy Wright and persuade him to come in as his No2
  9. Nonsense. Warnock gave Taraabt all sorts of benefits of the doubt. If you’re a man manager you manage the characters. Warnock is used as an example only. Could also be Cantona with Ferguson, Dalglish with Suarez and countless others. To drop your only suitable striking option in your most crucial game of the season is inexperience at its finest
  10. Have a listen to Carraghers podcast with Michael Owen. They agree Carragher would struggle as a manager due to his inability to tolerate people less committed. They put Gerrard in the same category. For me you play Morelos tonight then you fine him all the win bonus and probably a weeks wages on top for turning up late. This is not hindsight I said this to anyone who was in earshot of me before kick off.
  11. Totally agree. This version of the 4-3-3 we are playing (4-3-2-1) I have hardly seen used successfully by any team other than the AC Milan set up under Ancelotti. it seems to be a recent academy style system that works very well if you have incredibly athletic full backs that will bomb on all match for you and 2 very creative number 10s. In my opinion we are using it to make best use of Tavernier and Barisic and that’s why it seems futile to use it 100% of the time particularly when one of them is not playing. (It failed badly with Flanagan). This in my opinion is why we have struggled post break when a lot of the time one or the other has been key fullback has been missing or not fully fit. It’s also why it works better with Aribo at left back than Halliday for example. It is also a very vulnerable system for teams to split the centre half’s when playing against teams who can counter attack quickly (see Sunday and many other recent games as examples of this). Disclaimer* I’m aware this is very keyboard tactician but I have worked in football albeit it at a much lower level and have seen this system tried and failed many times with academy teams in particular who don’t have the players to make it work. Plan B needed.

He’s trying too hard at the moment and needs a spell on the bench. Probably due to the teams situation and him losing momentum from the break and the suspension. He will get it back again once the pressure is taken off him for a week or two.

    Kamberi Signs

I too wasn’t every overly taken with him at Hibs but he looks intelligent in his movement and we’ve been crying out for someone who understands that a low dangerous cross into the box is a better idea than ballooning ball after ball into cart horse SPL defenders who swallow them up for fun. Really impressed so far he looks sharp and hungry.
  14. To be fair to him every member of our support that I know of was waiting for the Kent deal to be announced. It has been like watching a different player for much of this season. £7m was always going to be a gamble on any single player for us at this moment in time.
  15. It would be lunacy for Gerrard not to be given another season. We can’t afford to get rid of him now and start another rebuild nor would I want to. It’s easy to sit with hind sight and say he shouldn’t have changed it when we were 1-2 but probably wasn’t the best idea when we seemed to be in control. Personally I would have liked to see him start the game with the 2nd half line up or at least Kamberi up top as the 9 as he seems to be the sharpest and most in form of our forward players. Strange he doesn’t see it as the majority of the fans do.
  16. Still on two, Livi away cup and Motherwell away December. Felt I’d be a certainty for this, seems not. Can’t say I’ll bother next year. Rotten
  17. Tell you what Stevie lad, you’ll never get the Liverpool job by giving the Liverpool pampered reserve squad a game when you’ve got better of our own out on loan. And managers that call out their own players too much end up losing the dressing room no matter who they are.
  18. Thought Polster did fine but I guess it’s all about opinions. he gets forward and puts in a decent delivery, clearly we miss Tavernier but I doubt he’s ready. In which case I agree with your point about why take up a place on the bench.
  19. Pretty disgusted with that interview in fairness. McGregor saved us losing the game, particularly with the 1 on 1 and Morelos is the last person he should be calling out for missing chances. Him and his staff need to take a look in the mirror. 4 games now where he has been lucky to get out of jail dropping more points for failing to change it up when required. and no I’m not slating him overall, just think that interview is bullshit and a cop out
  20. I agree, wrong set up from the start v Hearts. Especially with the lack of pace on the right, no outlet at all and a stranded striker.
  21. Polster getting his chance, Arfield and Morelos back in is enough. Anything else would be purely knee jerk and I think that will be enough for a good performance personally. Nothing against Flanagan but I think without pace it doesn’t work when you need your fullbacks to provide the width.
  22. I liked your post because you’re spot on in what you say but I think the answer is you don’t play Defoe up top alone and use that system. You find someone to partner him up front and change the system and if there isn’t anyone then that’s a major recruitment flaw under the circumstances. We got away with it against St Mirren just, we didn’t today obviously and I wouldn’t back us to get away with it again. We also can’t look for attacking width from our full backs when Flanagan is in that system.
  23. I’m not going to jump on this band wagon of everything being shite but we definitely need a plan B when things are not working for us and key players are missing. the 4-3-2-1 is not the formation to play with just Defoe up top. Someone on here mentioned the other day that the “unmentionables” still manage to blow these shite teams away. It’s because they adapt and play two up top when it’s appropriate and change things up when plan A isn’t working. We are still sometimes a bit Warburton esque when the game isn’t flowing for us. onwards and upwards, they’re still not as good as they were and we have the beating of them + they will drop points too! No surrender ever
  24. Great job, but also takes a certain personality and level of professionalism to do it well. The fact he has been given contracts to do this in the past at Liverpool and now here shows he fits in well and is happy to be a part of the group. I’m sure he’s a decent keeper too, to what level I’m not sure as I haven’t seen enough of him.
  25. I don’t see him being signed again as a replacement for Wes I’d be certain he’s strictly 3rd choice and a training keeper whilst the others are on loan, playing development squad games etc. He had a similar role at Liverpool before and apparently has a great attitude
