The charity Erskine, which provides unrivalled support to Scotland’s veterans, needs extra support during these challenging times.

They are currently in need of the following:

  • Food & Drink for Staff and residents
  • Arts & Crafts materials and activity materials for residents
  • Financial support.  Currently COVID-19  is costing they charity an additional £15,600 per week purely on PPE and additional cleaning equipment. This does not include the additional staffing costs.

If you can help with any of the above please contact Kirsten Graham, Deputy Head of Fundraising.

Tel: 0141 814 4618 | Email: kirsten.graham@erskine.org.uk

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can donate directly on the Erskine website:  https://www.erskine.org.uk/support-our-work/donating/

or you can donate via the RangersMedia Erskine Fund  by the usual methods, and we will pass it on directly to Erskine.

And  now here are some photos from happier times...

Thanks for posting GB, I never knew it was costing as much extra during Covid-19 as that, is it easier just to send a donation direct to them and add a mention about RM in the massage part ? We will send a donation over the next few days.

I also read that maybe 24 have died in the Erskine Homes because of Covid-19 which is really sad. :depressed:

Whatever each individual prefers.  Some may prefer to use the official site, knowing that their donation (plus gift aid too in most cases) will definitely get to Erskine in the official manner.  (no need to add a reference to RM, but you may feel a wee WATP is always appropriate:pipe: )

others may prefer to donate to the RM Erskine Fund because it's easier for them and they know that the Fund has a track history of finding creative and imaginative ways  of adding value to our donations whenever we can.  :sherlock:

And others may be in no position to donate even if they want to.  :depressed:

It is tragic that they came through so much in their military lives to be taken by a bloody virus now.

And denied the chance to have their friends and families near them at the end.  :depressed:

I know mate it is terrible, China has a lot to answer for IMO, that is for another time though.

Hopefully your thread can help raise some money for Erskine, just not a great tome for many people, all because of the same problem.

Hi GB,

Good to hear from you even if it is sad news (that seems to be all there is at present!).

£25.00 sent, mate, through Media Fund, hope it helps.

PM sent and contribution made @govanblue.

Thanks for your efforts as always.

Thank you for your donations!!

Did I mention that the RM Erskine Fund will match every donation we receive?

We've received £350 so far today - in the hour since we launched the thread.  :rangers:

And not forgetting that we have already received several hundred pounds in donations already from Members over the last two weeks as part of our low-key fundraiser.

So we're off to a good start.
