It doesn’t appear to be re-applied.

The previous quote was a legalisation but the important part was that it recognised that under their own rules that they may pursue legal matters if a team was found guilty of the sick acts. This new legislation removes all responsibility for them to pursue any civil cases for breaking the rules.

Well isn't that convenient the SFA don't have to chase legal claims against the taigs now.

Reading this report suggests to me that it was changed, less to do with the protection of a child but more to do with the protection of themselves.

The previous policy was unchanged for years so why now?

The tarriers will never get banned from European football.i was told yesterday that mr liewell has been spending a lot of his time in Geneva recently .He is wheeling and dealing with the top people in the game positioning his clubin the event ofchanges in the structure of European football.loathe the guy but can't deny he is brilliant at his job

H knows the CL route is going down the toilet after 2020 and is positioning his club for the best possible advantage after that.

"We're in a good seat to be an influence," he explained. "There will be change, whether that's to the Champions League, a European League, an expanded European League, an Atlantic League. "There's a lot of frustration and dissatisfaction at European level pointing to some form of elite competition, and clubs from the second tier who want to be part of that. "

Im thinking an expanded Atlantic league - and making sure his mob are in the top division of it. The questions is, where will we be?

Surely they aren't that corrupt though they can't use their rules to override the law.

Ok the five way agreement did but that was a financial rather than child protection issue.

Section 5 of the Children (Scotland) Act 1995 creates a statutory duty to report any suspicions of child abuse i.e. a duty to do what is reasonable in all the circumstances to safeguard the child's health, development and welfare. Failure to report concerns, turning a blind eye or failing to protect a child may result in legal action."

Their previous policy stated that they may impose their own legal action against an organisation that doesn’t apply with their policy. Now they have removed any responsibility that they might have had.

Yes but child abuse isn't a financial matter though

I'm; I missing something here, did the statute of limitations not get lifted recently, meaning anyone who was historically abused can now take the club(s) to court on an individual case by case basis no matter what dirty deal they did in the past to cover up what was going on...

Glasgow Sheriff Court.

A PRIMARY teacher charged with a string of sexual abuse charges against former pupils made his first public court appearance today.

Gerald King, 65, is accused of using lewd and libidinous practices towards six school children while he was a teacher at St Martha’s Primary school.

The charges span from August 1, 1983 to June 30, 1989 at the school in the Balornock area and are alleged to have been committed against four boys and two girls.

King, from Springburn, also faces a seventh charge of taking or making indecent images of children between January 1987 and December 1988.

The pensioner made his first public appearance at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.

He was represented by defence counsel Gavin Anderson who entered pleas of not guilty to the charges on his behalf.

Sheriff Alan McKenzie set a further pre-trial hearing for next month and continued King’s bail.

this is the original press release and you wonder why celtic isn’t mentioned in the above ?

Gerry King is facing historic sex abuse charges

A football coach and primary teacher has been charged
over claims of historic child
 sex abuse.

Gerald King, 65, who coached kids for more than 20 years, has been suspended from his job at
 St Martha’s Primary School
in Glasgow.

The claims have emerged as police investigate a range of historic allegations of football-related child abuse across Scotland.

King, known as Gerry, was suspended after his arrest in February.

Scottish FA speak out on historic child abuse in football following bombshell documentary

Yesterday, he strongly denied
the allegations and said he was
challenging them. He said: “It has completely destroyed me.

“You work 42 years and then this happens.”

King also confirmed that he is a former chairman of celtic Boys
Club, which has been rocked by historic sex abuse scandals.

King was a coach at celtic Boys Club

But he insisted the police
investigation was not related to his years there and said he not been chairman of the club for around
eight years.

He insisted: “It’s got nothing to do with the boys’ club at all. It’s the school.”

King has taught a number of subjects at St Martha’s in Balornock, Glasgow. But he said the allegations
against him, which date back three decades, were linked specifically to sport.

He said: “They’re
30 years ago. You’ve got things in place so it couldn’t happen and they’ve said it did.

“I have been advised by the lawyer not to say anything.”

celtic Boys' Club sex predator Jim Torbett given second chance to abuse young players

He said
of the police investigation: “It’s hellish, it’s terrible. They said it can take anything up to nine months away into next year.”

King was at celtic Boys Club with Jim Torbett, who got two years’ jail in 1998 for abusing three former players, including future Scotland striker Alan Brazil, between 1967and 1974.

Torbett was said to have been sacked from the club in 1974 when allegations surfaced against him. But this week, fresh claims were made that he abused more youngsters after returning to celtic Boys Club for a spell in the 1980s and 90s. He denies the new allegations.

King also worked at Torbett’s company, the Trophy Centre, but denies being close to him.

King was at celtic Boys Club at the same time as Jim Torbett

He said: “Everybody has got different teams. I worked there for about a year but only on a Saturday afternoon.”

About his time as chairman of the boys’ club, he said: “That was about eight years ago. We left that to the younger ones – we did our stint.”

King’s association with celtic Boys Club dates back to the early 1980s. In 1982-83, he helped run the under-12 team which won an invitational
event in Rotterdam, Holland.

Football coach suspended from job as primary school teacher after historical sex abuse allegations

In the summer of 1983, King joined senior players from the boys’ club on a trip to Kearney, New Jersey, USA. He wrote a celtic View article on the
visit, headlined Trip of a Lifetime.

King took charge of the under-14s the following season but returned to the under-12s in 1984-85 and helped them win the Scottish Juvenile Cup.

He coached teams at St Martha’s for decades and a number of his players went on to professional careers.

A source said: “A lot of people will be really shocked by this – he was very well known. A number of high-profile players that he coached over the years have been interviewed by police.”

Police confirmed: “On February 15, 2017, a 65-year-old man was charged in connection with non-recent sexual offences. A report has been sent to
the Procurator fiscal.”

Glasgow City Council said: “A member of staff was placed on
precautionary suspension in February pending a police investigation.”

A spokesman for celtic Football
Club said they had no comment to make about King and referred
our reporter to an earlier statement they gave about historic abuse.

It said celtic Boys’ Club was a
“separate and distinct” organisation from celtic FC, but asked anyone with concerns to contact them.

The statement added: “A large number of football clubs across Britain have been impacted by these historical issues. celtic Football Club considers it of the utmost importance that
football, other sports organisations and all areas of society ensure that the
issue of safeguarding is given the
attention it deserves.”

celtic Boys’ Club were unavailable for comment last night.

I said in the beginning to people that I know.

This bit about people should get in touch with the peado harbourers should not be allowed, there is a police enquiry going on and they are saying to people, no no no, you just get in touch with the club and we will sort it, if the taig boys club is nothing to do with them then why should they get in touch with them, I know the answer to this but are they that sleekit that anybody who gets in touch with them will they get a wee pay off to keep hush hush, Im damn well certain they would.

Anything to save face instead of having pity or guilt even though we know this happened, a kid is still a kid be it with there boys club or ours, but there way is cover it up and move people on and lie, same as there faith and priests, I hope there is people out there that do come forward whether they are fans of them or not because after this trial I believe the courts will never get a chance again to deal with these cunts properly.
