He’s the one player I wish we had been able to sign. Could easily have been the heir apparent to McCoist.
It's incredible when you realise how much football across Hadrian's wall has changed in the last few decades ... the money down south has just grown out of all proportion

The good news is this team seems to play it's best football against better opposition which should see us a better cup team than in recent years

Interesting that neither of the big 2 in Spain use their national colours of red and yellow ... down south the big 3 of Liverpool, Man U and Arsenal all use red and of course in Scotland the premier club had to be the blues

Going to be a big game tonight

I remember a group of elderly England fans chatting during the last world cup and although they did want to win it again a small part of them would always miss the swinging 60s with the red shirts and the Queen presenting Bobby Moore with Jules Rimet ... and you know thinking about Barcelona 72 I kinda know what they mean

Can't stand Carragher at all tbh.
Neville's reactions there are those of a guy who loves his club and is gutted / embarrassed. Carragher is a show pony.
Sucking a lemon

Einstein didn't say that.
He was a physicist not a philosopher. He is on record as denying saying it.
Ironic that people continue to attribute it to him.
To be fair his English was never very good

Beale shat the bed and thought his first OF game would pass him by. He went with his trusted favourites in Lundstram and Kamara who got overran with pace in the middle & it blew up in his face.
Just like with Gerrard and Rodgers we have once again managed to have the rookie in our dugout ... and just like Brenda being allowed to make his mistakes in Anfield so all of angie's rickets were left in the J League

Must agree with Halliday last night a bit surprised that Raskin didn't start after us paying money to get him in before the summer AND even more surprised that he didn't come on at half time!

You always get the impression that players burst a gut to play for teams that are winning trophies because most platers want to retire with medals to show off

A very frustrating player he seems to have all the attributes required to be a great player but always managed to be less than the sum of the parts for me. Perhaps some players just need a bit of devil in them ... call it overwhelming confidence but all the great players had it and they would never have been half as good if was missing

On reflection.
I hope he learns from it, he made a mistakes with the XI and with the subs.
I think we're in fairly decent hands with the Manager and he's the last one I'd change.
I don't know if it's possible or how much it'd cost. But I'd bin essentially everyone behind the scenes and most of the players.
He probably does look at the players and think not much to work with here ... for example Morelos and Kent will be 2 of the best paid and really just a couple of gold plated duds who seldom produce in the big games

Nice quote but let's be honest we never grow stronger from our failings domestically since we've been back in the top league. One season which was covid riddled that we won the league and then we've reverted back to type. We will never become a dominant force whilst we've got a shitebag captain and a squad of serial losers, has beens, never was players and ones made of glass. Harsh but true
As Einstein said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result

Interesting in the Gerrard years that we showed our form in European trophies but had a compete drought in domestic ones ... no one will ever convince me if we had applied ourselves as much in the domestic games as we did the the Europa league that we wouldn't have won a lot more than 2 in 7 years

Poor team selection yesterday but to be fair he's still learning his trade as a manager
-
There's an old saying in football that teams of nice boys never win anything and perhaps our eagerness to give Thistle a consolation goal a few weeks back says a bit more about what's going on at Ibrox than we would want to admit?
Look at the forward line yesterday Morelos, Kent and Sakala is it not obvious by now that they're just not good enough ... we really do make the rat catchers look good and I'm sick of it -
