  1. Express saying Brenda reportedly told Dembele that Albion boss Chris Hughton was a great manager and the seaside outfit were a far better club than celtic ?
  2. Aye, but the question is... does she have a say in it?
  3. Agreed. It is certainly a rosier picture for our club but there are limits, as i hinted at when i said 'maximise return' equated to not spunking all the invested money away. Baby steps, but at least we are on our feet and walking now
  4. Two more to follow i reckon. If that's the case, Andy Devlin got it spot on. He said way way back that 15 players would be coming in
  5. Love watching this lad play Keep it up son ?
  6. When we were still in the SPL, albeit financially crippled. Granted his opportunity coincided with the financial meltdown and demotion so he was dealt a shitty card but it was obvious to a blindman he wasn't cut out to be a manager, let alone a Rangers manager. When Walter gave him the reins for Cup games he was well out his depth.
  7. It has to be McCoist, by some considerable length. He had by far the easiest jobs in terms of managing players on the park. External factors no doubt played a part but from a managing perspective he was way out his depth. Moving up through divisions of journeyman yet we played some truly awful football in the process. Warbuton was soon found out but at least had a team playing some tremendous football albeit, against lesser opposition, managed a team that beat celtic in an epic semi and got us in the SPL (something two Rangers greats failed to do). Granted the wheels eventually came off the bus. McCoist’s bus didnae even have wheels.
  8. Absolutely spot on, on both counts. Key reasons Pedro failed was because he trusted the only markets he really knew (Mexico and Portugal) AND because he couldn’t communicate his ideas well enough in his second language. Secondly, if he had been a wee bit more successful with the above we wouldn’t have felt the need to look elsewhere, and would almost certainly have missed the boat with Gerrard. Reading that back, maybe we should be applauding Pedro ?
  9. Never read the Boardroom forum... hurts ma heid ?
  10. Can’t see this mentioned anywhere else on RM, although I’m maybe not looking in the right places ? Surely we have became a more investible proposition, almost overnight? Unbeaten in 12 games including 3 games where we’ve had 4 players sent off (I know losing a league game and winning one is actually better in terms of points tally). In Group Stages of a European competition. Players gaining more top level experience. Footballing icon leading the club and the increase in exposure that is bringing A pool of players who look like they have real sell on potential, and A board who have, eventually, made one hellova good decision. The golden rule of investment is timing: you buy in at the right time to maximise your return* This feels like the right time! * in football terms by ‘maximise your return’ I mean, you’re not spunking ALL your money away ?
  11. You could argue the Morelos sending off was justifiable as he dissented, twice. The Flanagan one was dubious at best. His second yellow was just ridiculous....it’s practically impossible to jump with any purpose without using your arms. To be fair, disallowing Ufa’s goal was also a terrible decision.
  12. Noticed that too. Most notably, Jack did it in the last few mins after bursting down the left wing before hauling down the defender that got in front of him. Thought it was a definite card. Need to be careful to not only avoid second yellows in the game but also not get suspended in the group stages as we’ve not got the depth of squad you can rely on.
  13. I doubt he'll go anywhere other than Liverpool. Ideal scenario? Klopp stays at Liverpool for another 3-4 years minimum. We need Klopp to ALMOST get there. Win some cups, maybe even Champs League with the EPL title becoming that much closer year on year. Just enough to ensure he stays interested in managing Liverpool for as long as possible.
  14. Fuck hoping for an easy(ish) group. We deserve some big European nights. This group would do very nicely IMHO
  15. At the very least it puts us in a much stronger position (both financially and as destination for players) which might make it easier to secure certain players beyond their loan deals(Coulibally), or extend their loans(Ejaria). And whilst we can resent being used a stepping stone, at this moment, we are where we are and tonight certainly makes us more attractive as a club for developing talent like Ejaria, Kent etc. I imagine top clubs will now be seriously looking at Rangers as a great place for loaning really strong, emerging talent.
  16. No need to worry. Ive got a voice like a goose farting in the fog. There is no way i would subject anyone to that. Still worth placing me on your ignore list, mind you ?
  17. You’re right. I should maybe start with ‘We’re on the march with Coulibally’ ?
  18. Maybe that’s where I’ve been going wrong.... I should have sang and filmed my Rangers version of Cigarettes & Alcohol !
  19. Silence from Jeffrey post upload. Care to comment?
  20. One of the best nights of my life. Was absolutely fucking leathered by the end of it. Andy Goram, injured and half cut gave us a wee tour of the stadium and Campbell Ogilvie took us down into the dug outs before we took our seats in the Directors box. Also, my mate (sadly, now passed away) got into an argument with Fergus McCann and Dominic Keane as we were heading to hospitality at half time. Dominic Keane was saying ‘only one team in it Fergus, only one team’ and my mate interrupted with ‘Aye, but ye’s are gettin beat’. Dominic then said ‘I wasn’t talking to you’ so was hit with ‘I don’t give a fuck, yer still gettin’ beat’ ? Unfortunately Paul Byrne scored to make it 1-1 then we went to the Blue Room, met SDM and Walter Smith, took part in the ceremony and had a wee sip out the Loving Cup then went down to the players lounge for drinks and nibbles ? Met and had a drink with all the players on the team sheet as well as Hateley, who wasn’t playing that night, and a few others. Fucking amazing, once in a lifetime experience.
  21. You missed out d/ by the way ? Edit: just noticed d/ was covered previously
