  1. I'd never looked at those two before. Looks like they were maybe played in earlier rounds but weren't in the cup final team? They are amongst the players on the surrounding but missing from the team shot on the pitch.
  2. Hummel won't be suing us any time soon. I used to work with their new CEO and it's not how they operate. Plus, they know they've struck gold both with getting us and getting Gerrard.
  3. Somebody else suggested using the advertising spaces in the airport to counter their retail presence and I think that is a much better idea. Get product in the airport through a concession retail deal (space in someone else's shop) then use a couple of prime advertising spots to promote Rangers as the premier club in Scotland. Let the beasts lose money, while we maintain our visibility and, as you say, break even or thereabouts.
  4. Apologies if this has already been posted but this is another old favourite of mine, the 1946-47 League Cup winning team. If ever you needed a "team" to boss the pitch and sort out crowd trouble, see off invading Croats, etc., this looks like the right group of hard bastards you'd be looking for.
  5. I think these are two full season projects. They'll have parts to play throughout the season, won't be starters in the majority of games if we have full fitness but, by season's end, we'll be wanting to keep at least one of them. Both have talent, both need development and maturing.
  6. This is one of my favourite old Rangers photos and I managed to work out where it was and go and visit the spot when I lived in Copenhagen. This was from Rangers tour of Denmark (the oldest, organised continental football league) in 1922. Tells you a bit about how the world has changed that the gentlemen's tailor and the cheese shop behind the bus are now a tanning salon and a vegan organic health food shop. @johanhentze, can you name this street? You'll have been here, I'm certain.
  7. Just looking at the line-up from the last time we played them. Based purely on footballing ability, not cuntishness, I'd say we're in a better position today than we were then. Rangers: McGregor, Goian, Broadfoot, Wallace (Perry 39), Ortiz (Healy 67), Bocanegra, Wylde, Edu, Davis, Jelavic, Lafferty Substitutes: Alexander, Perry, Bendiksen, Fleck, Healy, Kerkar, Hutton
  8. Does this affect you for domestic matches too or just European ones? If so, you must be a nervous wreck.
  9. I wouldn't argue with pop-up shops, shop-in-shops or concessions. They are a great way to focus attention at low cost in a business already drawing suitable retail traffic. That should be the way we go in future, in a retail partnership or independently. You do a deal to get 2 metres of window space and a few square metres of floor space against a prominent in-store wall as part of someone else's business. But our airport stores have historically been loss makers and there isn't enough casual non-domestic tourist traffic through Glasgow airport, or to Ibrox for football reasons, that would ever make an airport store viable.
  10. Oddly enough, I seem to remember some of our more vocal sheeple (not the RM sheeple, they're on ignore) slating Graham Wallace for a similar survey and membership scheme. Apparently, now it's a work of genius and long overdue. I've already read comments elsewhere of people calling for airport shops again......... But, ignoring the double standards, I'm glad they're sending out a survey again. It should be done every year, I think, around AGM time.
  11. No pressure there then?. If he ends up being 1/2 an Essien, I'll be delighted.
  12. I just pretend it's someone else in goal, wearing a McGregor mask. Makes it bearable.? Amazing the difference a quality keeper makes though.
  13. I wouldn't go looking for a pub in Dundee. Better to look for a road out. You've got much bigger problems than where to watch the football if you're stuck there.
  14. It's because we've got a lot of complete spanners posting on the board. He's not perfect, we couldn't afford him if he was. He's a good, solid pro who brings a better balance to the team and works his ass off for 90 minutes every time.
  15. Treated the fuckers with such disdain, he even brought Windass on. It was like Walter playing with the beasts by bringing on Sebo.
  16. Jack was good tonight and I think he is comfortable in that role in front of the back four. Last season though, I actually thought his best games were when McCrorie came in and he was pushed further forward. He's more than just a holding midfielder. I think he's a better player than we give him credit for. I reckon Jack and Arfield pushed up in front of Coulibaly will be a fucking devastating combination this season.
  17. Compare and contrast to last season. Our new boss might be a rookie but he knows how to build a solid foundation.
  18. Big game player when we need to battle. I'd leave him out against diddy clubs who park the bus. But for the tight ones, he should be in every time.
  19. Dinamo Minsk came in nicely. Next up, hoping the hivs take a pumping. Dropped in a wee comedy 4/1 double of Lincoln Red Imps and fucking Progres fucking Niederkorn and it looks like it might come in. Dearie me.
  20. Lumping on us tonight. Not sure why we are quite so generously priced at 19/20 on 365. Osijek have a pretty pish away record and we've looked reasonably comfortable throughout pre-season. Minsk also look a great price at 6/5 after winning away 3-1, so got them, Gers, Asteras and Burnley acc.
  21. I don't think any of this is about cash any more. Its largely a pissing contest. I think we are deluding ourselves to think that we will have a significant impact on SD financially either by boycotting or suddenly all rushing to the megastore and buying 100000 mandarin tops. If we have a great retail year off the back of Gerrard, a competitive team and good kit, we might turn over £10 or £12 million. SD turn over £2.5 billion in a normal year. They don't need us, we don't want them, but it looks like we're stuck together for a while longer as King and Ashley compare cock sizes.
  22. Lots of club sides but also saw us play against New Zealand.
  23. It's emotional immaturity. For some, over-reaction is all that is possible. No cause and effect, no subtlety, complexity or ambiguity. Everything is black & white and in block capitals. LEGEND! SHITE! Morelos can be great one game, poor the next. That's fine and as expected at our current level of competition. Some seem to have a difficulty grasping that.
