  1. I've been saying for a while this is no time in the season to start playing youngster, as inexperience can cost big time. But the squad is getting veeery stretched at the moment, and with whittiker suspended for the hibs game just making it even worse.
  2. Celtic have already come out and said they want to take full advantage of our injury crisis. Shocking tackle, and he had plenty of other fouls on top of that, so if that was only a yellow the others surely added up to at least a yellow. Then Wittiker gets sent off for Naylor play acting and 1 miss timed tackle. Poor show ref, poor show
  3. Im very confident actually, we're about due a performance! Im thinking a 2-0, 3-1 win for us
  4. What i love about this is the difference with the managers. Walter really has stuck the boot in, but has still remained very dignified. Had this been Strachan who knows what the twat of a man would have said!
  5. He's short but he looks quite tough He's got attributes that i think Walter likes, with him being able to play various positions. He'll get a few games once the title is won.
  6. They are the ones to target for a few early crunching tackles then. It's maybe not the best case of good sportsmanship, but they would do it to us in the same scenareio. Didnt Mcgeady come out and say the season shouldnt be extended cause it wouldnt allow Celtic to take advantage of Rangers injuries? F*ck em! Get stuck in!
  7. Dont agree. There would be nothing worse than draying 2-2 at home to Man Utd, then drawing 1-1 away and going out on away goals.
  8. Totally agree on that point. Its really unfair on the home team, as the away team have an extra 30 mins worth of advantage.
  9. I wish more of our players would become 'ma baw' types. It would mean someone taking the game by the scruff of the neck when Barry's not there! Nacho Bloody Novo! Shoots for everywhere no matter who's about! But i agree, we need more players taking responsability.
  10. You cant honestly say that you'd be more comfortable with Broadfoot at the back than Daily? As rash as Daily can be, Broadfoot?
  11. We missed Thomson because of his overall performances, he really has been great and its easy to see when he's not there. But we missed Barry alot more. His performances have been debatable, but what he contributes to the team is really important. Like the original poster said, no one took control of the game. Davis just doesnt play that well without him there, which limits our attacking threat. They will be far better in the second leg, but with the guys returning, im sure we will be too.
  12. I've always liked Tommy, top draw man.
  13. I actually expect Zenit to win, all through the competition they have looked a quality side. And a Rangers Zenit final would be awesome!
  14. Just watching the final few mins of the youth cup final and in the next few seasons there are a good few players i imagine will become valuable members of the team. Kinniburgh, left back (actually went to school with him) is a very comfortable left back, and very comfortable going forward. Efrem, Got very quick feet, attacking, cracking player Fleck, very good young player (what a goal by the way!) Furman, solid midfielder Lennon, already had a couple of first team games, promising lad And on top of them theres the Harveys, McMillan etc who could all do well. This all looks very good for the future! On a side note, at the end of the game, the Celtic players were all about dead! Hamden is a very energy sapping pitch, but they were actually just falling over from fatigue!
  15. He was terrible tonight, everything goes back the way! I've never been a fan of 2 holding players, and i know Daily was poor tonight, but he at least moves forward. I'd rather just play the 1 holding player and give Buffel a full game, even he's more likely to put in a tackle over Hemdani!
  16. Woo, just found out im going to the game! Never been to a european game, and also have never been to a game where Rangers have lost so here's hoping! Anyway, Its really important not to sit off this team, Im not sure if we could handle another game like Bremen away
  17. Nobody is giving the he's too yoiung garbage though. Most people want to see us look after him and bring him through the right way. As you just said Bojan debuted at 16, but he had already been playing with the B side for a year and on top of that, the majority of his apperances for the A side were cameo-esque substitute apperances against smaller sides. It was only once he got a feel for the first team they started including him more regularly and he has done enough to now be a regular fixture in the first team. Fleck has had a 20 odd minute apperance against a 3rd divison side and some people are talking about possibly playing him against Firoentina or even Celtic. Thats not the way to look aftre a youngster. Exactly. This has to be done with care.
  18. He's not too young, he's too inexperienced to be thrown in at this point. I'd have him on the bench and if we're a few up with 10 mins to go by all means, give him a run out. Bojan, Messi, Ronney all got to play in the less important situations when being introduced into the first team. Start him against anyone until the league is won, and he has a bad game his confidence will be destroyed. I bet the lad would love to get in a game, but at this point he is still fairly far down the pecking order.
  19. I agree,Whittakers a right back....but with all the injuries to midfield and suspensions, Who else is there to play there? IMO Dailly has the graft , but i dont think he has the skill to play in mid, where as Whittaker can play a wee bit better wae the ball !!! Dailly IMO is prone to divin into tackles and givin away foul's, I don't fancy him givin one away at the edge of the box against this mob.The tallies like a dive!!! Plus the fact that Broadfoot is pish. ____________________Alexander________________ Whittaker________Cuellar______Weir________Papac ________________Dailly____Hemdani_____________ ___Davis_____________Buffel_____________Novo___ __________________JCD/Cousin__________________ Defensive and attacking. Team i'd pick. Got the tracking back of Davis and Novo, with the forward play of Buffel. Back 4 and holding 2 pick themselves really and i'd prefer JCD up front.
  20. Cousin has just come back from an injury and played 120 minutes the other day. On that basis I would be very suprised if he started tonight. I'd be more shocked if he didn't play tonight we need our best players on the park! IMO we need a Goal tonight and Cousin is our best Shout for a goal Dont think JCD could last on the wing, he'd have to track back an awful lot as well as driving forward. I'd much rather see him up front with Cousin on the bench, and possibly Buffel in there instead.
  21. Talk about throwing someone into the deep end. This is the most crucial part of the season, and playing the boy at this time could destroy his career. I know he's been fantastic in the U19's, but the pressure of a first team game at this stage in the season must be immense. I agree about having him on the bench for a few game, build up confidence, throw him on for the last 10 mins if we're a few up, but he should even be considered for a starting role right now.
  22. Should only offer him a 2 month contract. If he wants another 2 months he has to put the effort in.
  23. Looked very assured. Very calming when you have a goalie that can take crosses like that (we're no stranger to it with McGregor to be fair) Very odd, but he looked so comfortably for the penelties. Although he didnt save them all, i've never seen a goalie look like he possibly could. I felt very confident in him. Proud. Well done Neil!
