  1. Its a disgrace that Walter never won manager of the year. Player of the year, although it should have been Cuellar by a country mile, does ultimately come down to personal opinion. Fair play to the Hamilton manager, getting them promoted and what not, but come on! CIS cup, Scottish cup final, Very strong in the league, Uefa cup semi final. On top of that if you look at where we were in january last year. No other manager should have even been in contention.
  2. Surely I'm not the only one who thinks the Naismith stamp was deliberate?? Burke's was accidental, looking at it again and again he had his eyes on the ball. Hardie knew EXACTLY what he was doing with Naismith though. Totally agree The Burke one looked very painful, but not intentional. The saint definetly knew what he was doing with that stamp, i thought that was shocking actually. I remember Giggs doing a very similar thing to Lovenkrands In the Champions League inside the first few miniutes and got booked for it.
  3. Cause its more than sometimes. The refferee's in Scotland are below poor. There was an offside call today on Novo, and he was a good yard onside. Thats a BIG mistake.
  4. Dont think Cousin will start, that was one of his poorest performances to date. I prefer Darche, he's much more involved. Who plays in midfield? I'm not sure about Buffel, but who else will play there? unless Whittaker, Davis, Hemdani, Daily and Novo are the midfield, with Broadfoot at right back.
  5. i expect a 3, 4 or 5 - 0 win for celtic.
  6. We're not really. But in both formations its totally down to the playres that are playing. 4-5-1 with McCulloch or Adam on the wing doesnt look that dangerous to me, but with Burke, Novo or even Naismith on the wings it gives the option of pace. And in 4-4-2, when its Darche and Boyd or Novo and Boyd it always seems to look like we'll score when attacking, but when its a 4-4-2 with McCulloch and someone it doesnt look dangerous. You have to play the right players for the formation, and for me Walter didnt do that until the second half on wednesday.
  7. Dont trust the beeb Although, Walter promised Gow a play for the thistle game and he didnt play (or so i heard), so i wouldnt read to much into that. He's a bit weak, but we have strength in abundance, so he should be in contension.
  8. Thats what i heard. Walter said he could play against Thistle then didnt put him on or something.
  9. Gow is the most talented player in the reserves, and by a good distance. He isnt, however, a worker. He doesnt chase lost causes, close down players or help out in defence. These are the qualities Walter is looking for, and can be seen with the likes of Daily, Davis, McCulloch, Darcheville etc... I would like to see him get a game against st. Johnstone, but i doubt he will.
  10. Im not Buffels biggest fan, he's a bit too weak, Nakamura like in stature. If he doesnt play against st johnstone im pretty sure you can count him out. Id like to see him play tho, we do need the width. Him on the left and Burke/Novo on the right should do alright.
  11. He's a very good goalie. From what i've seen of him he's very confident with cross's and his shot stopping is pretty good. Not really seen him need to made any quick reaction saves or anything though. I think he'll do fine, as long as the defense is solid.
  12. Crockers not that bad, but Booth is truly awful. Not so much bias, more just crap.
  13. Weir wouldnt have played in the scottish cup game anyway, no lose And yeah, Typical.
  14. I would really like to see this in the St. Johnstone team. That game will be very tough but we should get through it, even with a few changes.
  15. The Mcgregor thing isnt that bad, i know he's been immense, but Alexander is capable. We're not blessed with options on the left, but with Cousin being back it means Novo is free (as before he was the replacement for Darch) meaning he can occupy the Right. Novo, i suppose could play on the left with Burke on the right. Id rather that than Naismith on the left, he's too much of a passanger, i prefer Burke because he actually is a winger, one of the few we actually have. As for Gow or Buffel getting a game, im not so sure, i think at best one of them will get moved to the bench. All that being said, i expect (I cant even guess)--Hemdani--Barry--Davis--Novo For the celtic game, With Daily moving to CB. I dont think Broadfoot will play, unless whittiker plays in midfield again, but the second half yesterday was much better with Whittiker at RB. Im very interested to see our line up for this game. The Fiorentia one is gonna be worse, with Lee, Kevin and Barry all missing. Interesting stuff...
  16. The Hesselink foul pissed me off alot, disgraceful tackle. The commentator said it was a late challange, i think it was perfectly timed for what he intended. should have been a red. Didnt see much of the Cousin penelty claim. I did see the McCulloch thing and i couldnt believe he gave a free kick to Caldwell for that. All in all, performance was poor. I can only remember one incident where i think whittiker fouled someone and Celtic were unlucky not to get a free kick, but i didnt really pay enough attention to pick out more. But its not just him. Scottish referee's are terrible. Infact worse than that. Something needs to be done about the standard of referee's in scotland.
  17. One starts they all start. Poor show lads. He's not had a great season, so? One poor season does not merit all this. The fact that when he doesnt play we are at our poorest proves he gives an awful lot to the team, even if his actual performance isnt great. I agree Kevin Thomson is a good player, and has out shone barry in terms of performances lately, but if he has a bad year next season is he the next to fall to this treatment? Davis is also a good player, but if he stays next season and has a poor run of games will everyone call for him to be chucked? Commitment goes a long way at this level. Novo is not the most talented player at Ibrox, but he gives his heart and it lifts everyones game. The exact same can be said for Fergie.
  18. I think there should be a mass bouncy to maintain the spirits :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy:
  19. Ah Walter, you tactical guru!
  20. Its the way we've been playing! I know we keep on winning, and im happy to play this way if results followed, but i cant feel confident going into any game, despite the fact we're winning. Im a wee bit more relaxed about this one though, all the pressure is on them.
  21. Would have said the last old firm game was bigger in terms of our season to be honest. I think novo will play wide right. Novo has been used as a sub for when Darche is done, but we have Cousin to come on now.
  22. I actually think thats the reason he'll stay. He's waited so long, been here for what, 10 years? i dont see him leaving after such a short time as number one. He'll wait till he's more established before considering leaving i would think.
  23. Fantastic news First time he's really came out and said anything concerning speculation, minds been totally on the job. You're perfectly welcome here for life!
  24. Gow is actually quite decent, If he leaves i hope its not to an SPL club. I fear that could come back to bite us in the arse
