  1. If we're in for both than that would suggest Miller is off....which wouldn't be too bad a deal really.
  2. If we can bring in £5m or so for Bougherra and bring in Jelavic and Benalouane then I'd say that's an excellent bit of business, especially as it'll be two youngish players, one of whom is already an international and has definite sell-on value. Besides, how did we know Bougherra was even 10% as good as Cuellar when he arrived? I'll give Smith the benefit of the doubt here. Obviously in an ideal world we'd keep Boughie and bring in the two players mentioned, but that just isn't gonna happen.
  3. If we were to sell Boughie and bring in this guy plus Benalouane i'd be very happy.
  4. I can't help but feeling this signing is just to placate us and nothing else. Bain, Murray etc must have sensed protests were on the cards.
  5. we lost out on the £10m and then went out and spent £18m on the back of that . £28m just like that. £7m or so of which turned out to be a total waste....Lafferty, Velicka and Mendes (I know he wasn't a waste but I'm factoring in the £1.5m loss we made on him)
  6. I'd really like us to sign Eagles but I doubt we will, he just doesn't seem a very "Walter Smith" type of player.
  7. I can't see past Miller....who'd have thunk it, eh? As for Lafferty, he will be utter shoite for the majority of the season then come good in the final 6 games so everyone is waxing lyrical about how he'll prove his doubters wrong....just like the last two seasons.
  8. I know people will have reservations about it for obvious reasons, but when you look at our options in that position it's clear we need someone who can score 20 + a season, as Messrs Lafferty, Naismith et al just don't cut the mustard. I've always rated the fat wee bassa and thought it was ridiculously short-sighted of Mowbray to get rid of him and bring in Keane on loan. In essence, we need a replacement for Boyd, and McDonald is proven at this level. It's all academic though as I seriously doubt it's anything more than a rumour, but then again I was skeptical when I heard we were re-signing Miller.
  9. He's seriously deluded if he thinks he's going to get anywhere near establishing himself in AC Milan's starting 11.
  10. Maybe if Smith had spent the money he used for Lafferty and Velicka on a quality winger then we wouldn't need one.
  11. We should get Thomson on a new deal asap, I don't know why it hasn't been made a priority.
  12. My nose detects the distinct stench of timothy.
  13. If we don't bring in another striker worthy of the name then it might not seem so far-fetched.
  14. £55m....that would buy our club and still leave us a £25m odd transfer budget...
  15. I can see him doing well and a host of English sides being after him
  16. You can hear vuvezelas after Vidmar scores. Rangers vs Parma
  17. GK: Gordon, McGregor, Marshall DF: Hutton, Wilson, Hanley, Wallace, Wylde, Kenneth, Berra MF: Fletcher, McArthur, Dorrans, Cairney, Halliday, Adam, Fyvie, McDonald FW: Griffiths, Goodwillie, Fletcher, Boyd, Feruz Obviously difficult to predict as a lot of the younger players mentioned may or may not fulfill their early potential.
  18. no m8 i av nvr erd of im in mi life.
  19. Can't agree. Regardless of whether they've acquired their riches by merit or not, there is no need whatsoever for anyone to have that much money.
  20. So when is it going to made official?
  21. Someone's posted this on GF as well.
  22. I imagine it's journo-speak for an all-action midfielder.
