Don't get me wrong I think a strong rivalry is a great thing, but is it not about time that we left the rivalry to the football pitch and dropped all of the other crap that goes along with it. I personally don't accept the "They do it so why shouldn't we" stance. To quote my mother "If one of them jumped off a bridge would you?" Is there anyway at all to stop the "I hate you because you support THEM" mentality, yes you are always going to have your idiots and lets be honest both sides of the divide have their share. Does either club do enough currently to try and disuade the hatred that has built up over the years? One of the things that has got me thinking about this is that I have just had to fill in a form for my daughter to sign her up to a local school and the Uniform is green and my initial reaction was "I'm not having that like", then I thought what a totally ridiculous over the top reaction.
