  1. We have played both but in the 50s and 60s.
  2. Was it actually predicted to make £1 million profit per annum or was it not annual turnover? No matter which, £20k a week is far more than I'd reasonably expect
  3. Part of my point was he was slow and couldn't pass.
  4. He only played 8 league games in his first season. The whole team was undefeated in the league in his second season in which he only played 22 league games. He only averaged 23 games a season in 4 previous seasons. Then only played 60 games for us in 4 seasons. We played an average of 56 games in each season he was with us. Really poor value for £3.5 million plus hefty wages over 4 years.
  5. He only played about half the games.
  6. Helander is another player who got better in people's memory the longer he was out injured.
  7. Started off as an estimator in construction in 1973 and progressed from there.
  8. That doesn't make positive reading for the Club. Thanks for your post which is always appreciated by those of us who don't otherwise see what we have coming through.
  9. We paid far too much for NEH. There was a plan in place for a museum in Copland House at a cost of between £1 & £2 million. It was shelved. A venue which is mostly used as a big bar but only on match days and a club merchandise shop for all week should not cost a reputed £11 million.
  10. Helander was injury prone before we signed him. He was far too slow and couldn't pass a ball.
  11. He lost control of the ball a fair number of times. Nowhere near good enough. A midfield equivalent of Ben Davies.
  12. The only positive about Dessers is that he isn't as bad as Lammers.
  13. Don't rate Souttar at all. Would happily use him and Lowry in a swap deal for Shankland. Add Lammers to that deal or Davies.
  14. I know what you mean. As the years pass I reflect on my life since then which the 66 souls never got to fulfil. It makes you appreciate what you have had in life. I actually hate games on this date. It just doesn't sit right with me.
  15. Absolutely. I know these words about going to games as my mum said the same to me. I was 19 at the time and me and my mates were at the game but instead of going down the stairway we decided to go through the wee tunnel at the back of the "Derry" shed and down the track beside the railway line. It brought us out at bottom of the stairway. An unbelievable sight which nobody really grasped the enormity of it at the time. Me and a pal (Davie Currie) ended up about 40 minutes late back to our bus and the bus convener started to give us a moan until we told them what had happened. Only person I ever spoke to about it again for about 40 years was the late Stuart MacQuarrie who was on our bus that day.
  16. The fact that play resumed so quickly is a clear indication that Offside was not even considered at the time. It was a clear handball which could be seen in replays but Collum decided very quickly didn't occur. Nobody claimed offside at the time and there is no guarantee that offside would be given because the only point of interest was whether it was handball or not. The only replays necessary would be close-ups of the handball. What else should be getting discussed is the referee's failure to book their players. McGregor committed 2 fouls in the 2nd minute one of which should have been a yellow card. He committed 3 further fouls which could and should have merited yellow cards in 45, 47 (45+2), and 85 mins. Johnston had 3 yellow card offences 17, 42 (pen) and 64 mins. Bernardo 26 and approx 60 mins. Realistically I don't expect every yellow to be given but to only give out 3 cards from 9 serious fouls is unacceptable. He dished out 3 yellows in the last few minutes for what should only have been verbal warnings.
  17. Watched the entire game again and thought Cantwell was OK. Not his best game but he had very little assistance yesterday for laying off passes. Some very harsh posts from people.
