  1. what you talking about man utd have already beat valencia in spain. i think that i chose to open the thread with us visiting dublin makes me very optomistic. if you dont want to come just stay at home then. miss the mother of all party/barneys then
  2. i said if i'm wrong we have dublin to look forward to. obviously the last 16 brings in more money and co efficient points. (that we all crave) never did i say that i would prefer the ueropa league. but as you are talking realisticaly i still say there is a better chance of us getting involved in the europa league than the champions league after christmas as much as i have to admit it.
  3. i'm confident before every rangers game but however assumption us the mother of all fu*k ups. we have the probably got the ballon d'or of the 12th man so i hope that everyone of us can spur the team on. if im wrong we have a dublin to look forward to.can you see where i'm coming from.
  4. big marvin's smile gave us all belief.yeah mucker but as i said in my OP Dublin would be awsome
  5. we have a chance as you say, lets take it
  6. spot on my friend,i severely hope that happens but a dropped point in any of those two games, while valencia beats the turks and its europa for us. i want the last 16 as bad as anyone but tonight we needed a draw similar to the porto ross mccormack goal game.
  7. me as well pal but its an almighty push. the way i see it is that we are third in the group, (in the europa league spot) if we do so happen to get into second spot well jobs a good un and all that. bursaspor beating valencia in spain will be greater odds than us beating them tonight. i badly want us to do it as much as anyone else
  8. aye right bursaspor will beat valencia in spain. swear words eh you must know your stuff.super fan and all that.
  9. if you have ever played football at any level and you have put so much into the game to find that all your efforts just will not go into the net but instead hit the post or for whatever reason(millers chance)not get past the keeper.yeah your heads do go down. it happens to the best teams in the world(i.e champions league winners tonight).i can't fault any one as valencia were a great side and as much as i knew our side were resillient, there is only so much a flood barrier can take before it caves in. onwards and upwards st mirren on sunday lets just get the 3 points and get out of paisley,no going behind infact lets keep a clean sheet for once. WATP
  10. no complaints tonight, thought that we gave our all and luck just wasnt on our side.had the obvious naismith efforts been a baw hair to the inside of the goals the game would have turned on its head. although not totally over for the champions league and never one to see the negative. give me a final in dublin and i would die a happy man.(thats if the wife lets me go) still got man utd at home which will be a spectical in its own, so lets saviour it when it comes. also off topic i said to my wife that we have possibly got the best goal keeper in the world as we both watch shagger pull off save after save but thats for another time. roll on dublin. WATP.
  11. i would say thats a wee bit OTT but yeah on hindsight it gave me the boak when they highlanders scored
  12. although he has played the majority, if not all,our games this season i just dont think that he should have been left out of the starting line up.ok after all his past injuries and all, a wee bit of apprehention towards all the knocks he was taking recently but for me he has been steven davis of last season.he links up middle to front really well, great in the air, workrate, attitude, defensive duties and ability to score important goals are all there.with everyone calling for players to be rested for the cis cup i can understand but for today(no matter who we are playing)it's a no no. i agreed with walters decision to give kyle a chance up front with kenny, so naismith would have had to take a place in midfield as he has done during the campaign so far.for me playing at home we should not be playing lee and edu in the midfield.both are great players but so similar.fair enough edu got the goal so it may indicate that he was pushed forward that wee bit that we have been hearing about all season but for me stevie naismith should have started that match today. i realise that may be a wee bit harsh on walters selection but with the other half of glasgows game finishing before ours started and knowing that they had won.we should have sent out our form team.it seems to me that a chunk of the hard work from last sunday has gone due to that result today.
  13. yeah it would not be a big issue if the other mob weren't breathing down our necks, small squad and all that we have got, i hope edu is ok cause i thought we missed him when he wasnt there.i realise the guys are only human but knowing we will be playing in spain in a couple of days you would think that they would be trying to impress walter to get a game, saying that maybe the team picks itself for tuesday.
  14. ricky foster was utter brilliant i totally never seen that coming
  15. i think he thought we were tofee little does he know that we are the people
  16. when you look back to the champions league games when we dominated Bayern home and away, Barry was right up there with anyone in midfield and what i would do to have him in our team just now playing to the standard of which he did in that era. A lot of people have very short memories, fickle attitudes and still bear grudges he left when he did first time around.when he pulled on that shirt he gave his all. he played alot of games carrying injuries and jagged up because the pressure on him to play from the powers that be, says just how good he was in their eyes. some may say he is not a legend but had he lifted the uefa cup alot of people would be changing their tune. everyone has their opinion mind you, i for one look back fondly at what he done at our(his)club. legend
  17. joe hart is not anywhere near mcgregors class
  18. great composure for the winning goal that he set up. it would have been so easy for him to try to shoot himself and f*ck up or the keeper save. cracking start to the season and what a header he put in on that sheep *hagger
  19. 1st half i thoght davis was non existant but after telling other bears that i wish he would rediscover last seasons form, i thought that he was great in the 2nd half before he got took off.
  20. earliest memory of the gers was davie coopers thunderblot free kick against the sheep in the skol cup final back in the days where i would record games on the old betamax video.watched that goal over and over and still to this day i over it.looking back it was an awsome game as well
  21. last years league cup final.cracking header. made me feel so proud to win with 9 men
  22. yeah agree that just because we have gathered some extra cash(points in the champions league)we should be using that to stabilise the teams wages. we will not see this money until next year. like us all, we know what kenny bring to our team and as he has stepped up to the mark as our new number 9,we are all concerned by this. as stated if he gets whats he is on at present, i'm sure he will stay with us for an extra 3 years.
  23. or maybe it gives beattie the breathing space that he requires to get his fitness back, as there is no bigger insentive than to be playing for the rangers, also with jelavic and miller on international duty (euro champ qual)at least he is an experienced alternative. although i would still not rule out beattie's involvment at rangers being down to injuries to others etc.i believe he has what it takes to make it up here.squad roatation and all that
  24. we should not be held ransom for any player (as shown by boyd it will not be tolerated) but kenny is approaching the last contract of his career....ish)so he is trying to do a bit of bartering.i'm sure that is all.all of the talk of him walking elsewhwere when his contract ends,i'm sure is the last thing he wants after being yoyoing up and down Britain for the last decade. i'm sure he loves coming in to work with super Ally and kenny in training like the rest of the lads. sooner or later this will get sorted. by the way DM_WWTC and sash bash cracking bit of banter
