  1. You are so wrong mate. I have dealt with them and everything has to with saving face! Do some research.
  2. Haven't posted on here for a while as there have been a lot of family issues I've had to deal with including bereavements etc. I like ED 's posts, he brings a lot to this forum and he is clearly someone not only well connected with the Admins on here but also within the club itself, I'm trying to read between the lines of ED's posts on this topic and I know that the one race on earth who are obsessed by "loss of face" are the Chinese. ED also stated earlier in this thread that we would not know the identities of the forthcoming investors and we all know the Chinese economy is thriving. I may be wrong but I may be right thinking along these lines.
  3. Peter. Paul and Mary and the kids Saturday radio requests show ( Ed Stewpot Stewart) didn't realise it was a song about drugs!
  4. No doubt this will rage on over the next few days. Anyhow off now to see the original mighty Quo and cheer myself up for a few hours!
  5. It's sadly looking like Ally is not the man to take us forward. Question is who can we get to replace him? Will someone of quality be prepared to come in knowing that we might still be in the same division despite winning the title? Also will a manager of quality come in with one hand tied behind his back in terms of signings? For me most of the obivious candidates, e.g. McCall, Butcher want to ply their trade in the highest division, which leaves us with the likes of Derek McInnes, Billy Davies (dare I mention him?) or Ian McCall. Other candidates include Jim Jeffries, Jimmy Calderwood and at a real outside bet Alex McLeish. I sadly am forced to agree with ED's post -not that I'm sad to agree with him per se - just sad that after all Ally has been through it looks like he has come to the end of the line.
  6. Does anyone really think that Ally would come out and publicly slaughter his players? He has to back them in public as he has to get the best out of them. Privately it may be another matter where as one poster suggested Ally does pin one or two up against a wall. Remember, Ally played for this club and went from a crisis of confidence to become our top scorer. Ally also worked under one of the best man managers in Walter Smith so you can bet he's learned a thing or two about dealing with egos and personalities. I would also suspect that privately(that word again!) Ally will have told Charles Green to butt out of making public remarks about his playing staff and to concentrate on doing the job he should be doing. Ally comes across as a very nice guy but he is nobody's fool!
  7. The 60's V neck shirt forever would do me! And may I add no names on the jerseys just numbers from 1-11 for the first choice 11 give the commentators some work to do as in who is playing in which shirt? Substitutes, number 12- onwards
  8. This is a lovely story and one which I'm sure many Bears could replicate. This is why the young Bear Cubs are so lucky that modern technology affords the opportunity for memories to be instantly encapsulated on camera and retained for posterity. My late father and my late uncle both took me to Ibrox in 1960 and I would be so grateful for any pictorial record of that time. Happy memories last forever and like the OP's late father, the two gentlemen to whom I have referred also uttered not a word of bigotry or offence. They were too well educated for that! Thanks OP for this thread. It has brought back many happy memories for me too. Let's raise a toast to all the Gentlemen Bears who have now passed on but who have left their wonderful legacy in those who followed and who will continue to follow this fine Club.
  9. I have never seen such a biased panel in a long time. Chris Graham has been set up amongst a panel of three hand wringers who are doing their best to provoke a reaction from Chris in the most disgusting and ill-informed way. Well done to Chris for staying cool. Why wasn't Archie McPherson or our own Jim Traynor invited onto this programme? Spiers can barely contain his contempt for Chris. Chris has just made a brilliant observation that Doncaster and Regan must go. English just can't help himself " we have the HMRC appeal and the Whyte investigation." Thomson is showing himself for the twisted runt that he is. Spiers "it's been a disaster for Rangers" To each and every one of our detractors two words. "Gie's peace!"
  10. It appeared on my Facebook page as one of my Rangers friends had responded to the original post.Trust me I do NOT go on Sellik minded websites as you suggest. Indeed as a person who first set foot in Ibrox in the very early 1960's I pride myself in keeping up with today's technology to some extent.I trust this comment will suffice.
  11. Papers? What papers? Never read any of them. I remember that advice being given to Sir Alex Ferguson during his early barren years at Man Utd. He complained to Sir Matt Busby about the negative press he was getting via the newsprint medium and was simply told by Sir Matt, "don't read them." Sound advice for us today and indeed let's extend this to the broadcast medium. If you don't like what you hear/see simply don't listen or watch. As for the social network medium, I found myself so angered by a comment about Paul Gascoigne's current plight that I posted on here and rightly was slated for so doing. I apologise unreservedly but I was so appalled at the lack of humanitarian spirit towards someone who is in crisis that I posted in haste. I have learned from my misdeed. I only hope the originator of the vile post will also.
  12. Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery Paul!
  13. That was a wonderful way to banish the Monday blues. Thank you for posting this. I must admit I had a wee tear or two watching it. Without going into any detail, my wife worked in a Special Needs establishment and helped look after Mitchell. I hope Mitchell is living a comfortable life and that Ally becomes the legend of a manger as he was a player. He certainly has done his parents proud!
  14. Well said Jim! I think that more and more clubs are starting to realise that we have been very harshly treated. I was very intrigued by Charles' comments that the SPL/SFL proposal is far from a done deal and that his suggested 14,14,14 league plan is gathering consideration. Interesting week ahead!
  15. That's quite spooky because before I read your OP my first thoughts were Miller and Brand followed by Hateley and McCoist!
  16. Absolutely spot on. More and more authortarian measures and laws being passed to control the masses. It's all in the name of New World Order where the world is controlled by the 13 families of The Illuminati. David Icke writes some very good stuff about all of this too on his site, DavidIcke.com.
  17. Shearer's Bar will be showing the game but drinks are quite expensive. Try The Percy Arms just across from the bus station or ask the girls in The Strawberry which is right across the road from St James' Park and they'll put it on if it's not already showing.
  18. Another enlightened soul! I'm delighted you posted this and hopefully this will help awaken people to who really controls what goes on in the world - and it's not always the politicians. They are used as pawns by The Illuminati.
  19. I just noticed that on the tv listings and have recorded it. Away to Malta first thing tomorrow so can't stay up to watch it!
  20. This statement from Charles Green is the hallmark of someone who has been there, done it worn out the T shirt and released the DVD in so many formats. I think the balance of power is shifting our way. No longer will we simply sit back and allow attacks on our club. I am wondering - and it is just a thought, has Jim Traynor been involved in the preparation and timing of Charles' statement? I know Jim doesn't officially take up post until January but when your foot's in the door, you might as well come in and be part of the family.
  21. I have to say that much as we love our club, other supporters love theirs as well. Perhaps not in the numbers that we are now realising. But let me tell you it was not always thus. Those of us of a certain vintage will recall crowds of under 5 figures rattling around Ibrox in the pre - Souness years. For a genuine football fan to see his team go bust is a disaster. As my old Dad used to say, "how many Third Lanark supporters go to a game now?" after their club's demise in 1967. I'm afraid that all this does is to diminish our overall standing in European and World football to a joke status. It breaks my heart to think of the players we used to produce and the teams, both at club and country level, that we once beat as a matter of routine. People who take a short term, myopic view of things, may celebrate the demise of a club of the stature of Heart of Midlothian F.C. Those of us who have a long sighted and pragmatic approach, will view this possibility with a more than justifiable degree of regret for the overall well-being of our game in this country. .
  22. Noticed that wee rhunt Thompson was also banging on about the same thing. These two imbeciles must be having flashbacks to when they were "The New Firm!" Let them both rot in their SPhell. They can't hold onto players and they can't fill their grounds. And let's face it who is going to stop what they are doing to watch a match on the telly between those shite clubs? I think they are looking at the Rangers financial situation and are suffering an outbreak of panic and jealousy!
  23. Well we now live in the Orwellian state where our everyday actions are overseen by CCTV - all in the name of safety and security you understand! That's why they're not called speed cameras anymore but "safety" cameras. My advice to anyone who felt he/she was unjustly treated by the police tonight - and indeed at any other game at Ibrox is to lodge an official complaint via legal assistance if required. All incidents within the ground and its immediate parameters will be covered by CCTV and the footage should show any evidence of police over-reaction. The police - and indeed the Club - utilise this medium to identify any person causing unrest within the stadium. Might also be worth a call to the Head of Matchday Operations at The Stadium.
  24. That kind of guff is clearly written and preached by ignorant people who still believe that the world is flat! Unfortunately due to the brainwashed inferior education system they encountered in their younger days, they have been programmed to avoid the truth at all costs - especially where Rangers are concerned. There is no hope for such individuals and I suspect we will hear and read more of their bilge as we continue along the road to the top.
