  1. Ally is right, you live by the sword, you die by the sword. The players who couldn't wait to get out the door can hardly expect the same door wide open in welcome for their return. Unfortunately money has become the Mammon of the modern day game.I preferred the days when players played predominantly for the jersey and were paid moderately for their efforts. When you see photos of Mario Ballotelli's camoflagued Bentley then you know that there are people earning too much money in the game today!
  2. One would like to think that this statement will draw a line under all of this "Newco no history" nonsense, however I wouldn't hold my breath in this hostile environment in which we operate.
  3. This is almost 2k more than watched the Manchester derby. I couldn't believe it when the announcer stated that the attendance was 47k plus a few hundred. And Van Persie said it was the biggest derby in the world? Gie's peace!
  4. This is what our club does to you. Once a Bear always a Bear. And like me, for life!
  5. Brilliant article with the salient points succinctly made. Well done!
  6. I have no personal knowledge of John Greig and therefore am in no position to comment on the posts by those who do. I simply think that in the face of concerted opposition against us that the last thing we need as The Rangers family is in-fighting. The last 12-18 months would have tested the resolve of the most battle hardened resilient and it is understandable why there have been differences of opinion - some quite vitriol in their expression in forums such as this. It is one reason why I post sparingly as sometimes it is time for the "soft voice" and indeed sometimes for "no voice at all." It is our 140th anniversary. It is a time to reunite. A time to let bygones be bygones. A time for the Family to regroup,re-embrace and re-energise. We have one special person in our Family who, whilst thankfully out of immediate danger, continues a long battle to regain full health. Would Sandy approve of all this in-fighting or, would he as I suspect, fully endorse that we welcome all members of The Rangers family back together as we celebrate 140 years of Rangers, then, Rangers now, Rangers forever. Let us go forward in unity as our outside enemies remain manifold. We do not need enemies within! Thank you.
  7. Some very encouraging news there. Hope you go on to a full and swift recovery Sandy.
  8. The problem in all of this is that Rangers - or Charles Green in his role as CEO is caught between a rock and a hard place. The dilemna he faces is to; a) potentially turn down a source of revenue which will help rejuvenate the club and accelerate our return to top flight football, in favour of tradition or, b) risk the wrath of a section of the support by accepting said funds and accepting the name change. In my opinion it will all come down to the Leslie Crowther scenario - i.e. The Price Is Right!
  9. .At least we know Sandy will be getting the best medical care possible. Good luck Sandy, Haste ye back!
  10. I thought Sergey was one of Alexssander The Meercat's wee gang! :uk:
  11. Aye the "Liewell Loyal" are disintegrating. Won't be too long before the puppets Rhegan & Dhoncaster are on their way. Would personally like to see David Longmuir at the head of a new re-structure. He seems to be the only one in charge with commonsense!
  12. Well said Chris. My only disappointment on tv the other night was when Spiers lied about ever calling us cheats that John MacKay didn't produce the entry on his (Spiers') Twitter account which clearly shows he did. And John a good bluenose too!
  13. Rangers win the Big Tax Case on the same day when Benfica put that lot back into reality. Not a lot for Timmy to be happy about. No surprise that Walker and the rest of the mongs are trying to salvage anything they can from this. They know they are screwed and their acts are those of desperate men. We should focus on our rebuilding process and also keeping the welfare of one of our very loved own, Sandy Jardine, uppermost in our thoughts.
  14. I sincerely hope Whyte is brought to book for his repulsive actions. The SFA and SPL should also be disbanded. UEFA must surely launch their own enquiry into the reprehensible actions of a member association againts one of its member clubs. The rush to judgement in all of this has been nothing short of appalling and has made Scottish football the laughing stock world-wide. Let's hope this news gives Sandy a wonderful boost in his quest for recovery!
  15. Can't add any more than what's already been posted. Good luck Sandy and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
  16. I think the players have to ask themselves, " how many of us would have got a sniff of playing for Rangers if the situtation the club now finds itself in had not arisen?" Answer? None - apart from Jig, Neilly, and Lee Wallace. How many of the current squad will go down in Rangers folklore? Not many!
  17. I think we should have brought in Dick Campbell to assist Ally. He's a guy who knows what it takes to scrap at the lower levels and he would come to Ibrox in a heartbeat. The problem we have is that none of our managerial team has the experience of operating in the lower leagues and this is becoming more evident as games unfold. Also we should have bought Ist division players who would have cantered the 3rd & 2nd divisions, rather than SPL and foreigners who can't get their heads round what it takes to play in the lower leagues where every opponent wants to tell their grandchildren how they helped beat the mighty Rangers. I would exempt Jig and Neil Alexander from the foregoing statement as they have been exemplary in their committment to our cause.
  18. Your wee man will have a great time. I tried for ages to get my son to be a mascot when he we was wee but never managed it. However one of my mate's wee boy was chosen and had an absolute ball. The players were great with him, especially Big Amo who was captain at the time. Hope you all have a great night!
  19. Firstly thanks for the updates re CG's interviews. I'm not convinced bringing Walter back would serve any great purpose. Indeed the opposite scenario to that which such an appointment would be intended may surface - namely that Ally is undermined in some way by the presence of the man with whom so much of our successes is associated. In what capacity would Walter be involved? Would be be as a sounding post for Ally, or would he take ma more pro-active stance and try to influence on field matters? All of this has the potential to get messy and is best left alone. Can you imagine the next manager at Manchester Utd feeling comfortable if Fergie was still hovering around as a Director of Football? Walter has been a fine servant and deserves to enjoy his life as he sees fit. In any case I'm sure that he is only a phone call away if Ally ever feels the need for advice.
  20. I think there will be an agreement between Ally and CG that if Ally is not delivering to goods, he will resign as opposed to having to be sacked. Let's hope it doesn't come to this.
  21. For the cover up of abuse which Big Jock knew allied to the child abuse by Jimmy Savile and others, paedophilia is a huge industry perpetrated very often by those in positions of authority or celebrity who are watching each other's back to ensure that their whole wicked schemes are not exposed. I posted on here when Charles Green became our CEO that I hoped he would issue a statement declaring the end of the "Old Firm" and the end of dual sponsorship. I personally for once, hope that the wishes of these shareholders come to fruition.
  22. I still standby my suspicion that Whyte is seriously deluded or mentally ill. Cast your mind back to the night Whyte came out to brief the fans after we had been put into administration. He could hardly wait to finish his statement and run back into the building. His demeanour was hardly indicative of someone who had a detailed gameplan for this occurrence. In other words he was scared shitless at what had transpired and the reaction of the supporters to this news. Murray is also culpable in selling the club to Whyte and it will be very interesting to see how all of this pans out. I suspect more revelations to follow.
  23. I won't be investing any more time on this thread, so therefore, "I'm out!"
