  1. The way I see it is that as of 4/7/12 we are no longer members of the SPL. If SPL 2 is started then we would -like most SFL 1 clubs have to apply for membership. If we didn't apply we would play in what would be left of the SFL set up. Only problem I can see with that is that when we won promotion and tried to get back into SPL 2 our application for membership could be refused on the grounds that we were invited originally to play in that league and declined thereby withdrawing our future right of participation via promotion. This would constrain us to a lifetime of SFL football. Scottish football in general would probably be screwed by then anyway so it could be back to the days of "jaikets for goalposts!"
  2. Not had time to read all posts so apologies if this has been said already. I just loved Ally's line about "our friends across the road at Celtic." Aye right! Ally's eyes told the truth. He will NEVER view Celtic as friends at any time in the future. He will be plotting revenge as we speak against these "friends." These same "friends" who did their utmost to ensure we wouldn't win the UEFA Cup and the League in 2008. These same "friends" who nodded their approval at the sight of Ally & Walter carrying Tommy Burns' coffin. These same "friends" who were delighted to accept our vote which kept a 10-2 majority in the SPL and which ensured a greater split of incoming monies. These "friends" will never be our friends. Ally knows it, we Know it and they will certainly come to know it in the future. Let us haste to Division 3 and embrace the values of "sporting integrity." That same sporting integrity as proclaimed by " these friends!"
  3. This all comes under the heading " be careful what you wish for - it just may come true." Well today it did. The wishes of the member clubs and horde supporters of the SPL have come true. Glasgow Rangers Football Club is no longer a member of the SPL. Let those who sought our expulsion now enjoy the fruits of their labours. The phrase "act in haste, repent at leisure" springs to mind.
  4. Donald Findlay knows his way around a courtroom and how to be clever and cunning in what he says. If you look at the nuances in this statement he firmly exposes the incompetence and cowardice at the hands of Doncaster, Regan et al. He is also saying that we as a club should be welcomed but not as the sacrificial lamb at the table of the SPL whose member clubs still seek to dine in splendour at our expense. Very clever statement indeed, Mr Findlay! P.S - Watch out for many more similar statements which will heap pressure on those now already quaking in the SPL! - Bring it on!
  5. Early days I suppose, agree with comments about Healy but also pleased to hear Little and Kerkar getting offered new deals. Kerkar impressed me during the run-in last season. At least whoever turns out for us will be doing so for the love of the club and not the big shekels. Also don't know if anyone else recalls that when the whole Brown thing broke there were other ex players being named as being behind him. Amo, Laudrup and Albertz are three names I can recall. Funny how there is stony silence from these and other ex-players now. Don't know if Brown is being used as a patsy but I wish he would back off. It always distresses me to see former players letting themselves down.
  6. It must be getting close to the time when the police will step in and demand to know what league - if any - we will be playing in. After all they will have to plan for whatever contigency arises from this debacle. That might be the best option of forcing the hand of our impotent legislators and cowardlsy SPL tin pot dictators who come out with their threats in the media but don't have the cojones to make the ultimate call!
  7. Yip couldn't agree more. They want the kudos and big bucks when all is going well but don't want to step up the plate when there are tough calls to make.
  8. The OP is correct as was suggested last night. That is why so many SFL chairmen are angry and the Raith Rovers chairman is accusing the SFA & SPL of bullying tactics. Basically I think Div 3 for us is a non-starter as far as the SPL clubs are concerned. They want us in SFL 1 or an SPL 2 will be created with pressure on SFL 1 clubs to either join SPL 2 or be cut adrift. The whole thing is a total shambles, with a total lack of leadership being displayed by the heads of our organising bodies. Don't expect any great news today!
  9. Just give us Div 3 nothing less we can't be continually at the mercy of those who don't give a damn about us. Then let us watch Scottish football implode and watch the wee tin Hitlers who wanted to boot us so much react when they've go no clubs to be in control of. Our authorities must be the laughing stock of world football. I have never seen an outpouring of hatred towards us as I have witnessed over the last few months. Disgraceful doesn't begin to cover it. Of course it doesn't help when so called Rangers men can't even put a serious bid in for our club!
  10. As a fan of Def Leppard I know that they are Wednesday fans. In fact I think "Bringing On The Heartache" was written about your club. Good luck mate I've been in Newcastle recently and the Geordies are backing us and would love to see us in the Premier League. They are not in favour of "the Irish Club who play in Scotland" not the many I've spoken to anyway.
  11. I'm pleased with this statement, particularly with reference to the fact that Green's consortium was the only one to lay down it's cash. TBK and all the other "Johnny Come Latelys" certainly talked a good game but delivered the total sum of zero when it came to the crunch. As Mr Murray says, if there are people backing Brown & Findlay why not join up with the current consortium and make us an even bigger club? Surely with these Rangers men on board there will be no chance of any dodgy dealings as they will have the ability to police the whole show. Season ticket monies etc. would flow and the club would benefit Now that would be a legacy to be proud of!
  12. Ach well the wife is pished and sleeping after her works night out. Had to give my affection to somebody! Her pal told me to fuck off! :uk:
  13. Top post as always mate - unfortunately wasted on many on this forum who are blinded by loyalty to former employees of our club- and merely for that fact alone!
  14. And here was me thinking a rotund gentleman with a penchant for a certain blazer was our "official spokesman!" A few jaffa cake crumbs will have been spluttered when said rotund read Brown's apology. He can read I take it - the rotund one?
  15. I'm with you in all of this ED, it seems "Rangers men" are big on soundbites but not so big on slapping down the cash! Very quick to criticise those who have though!
  16. Unfortunately yes. We live in the era of a dumbed down litigious society. A nation of fast buck chasers with not a thought about the heads trampled upon to achieve such aims. I know I generalise and there are many good and noble souls out there doing their duty with a sense of righteousness. I am delighted that I was brought up by two wonderful parents who installed great values within me,one of which is the value of the loyalty of which you speak. I have passed this onto my son and hopefully he will do so to his offspring if and when they are born. Loyalty has always been the Rangers way!
  17. My missus says she's the boss! I've never been skint in 32 years so that's fine by me
  18. And I too understand the orgins of the mess in which we now we find ourselves . I am desperate for the day when those culpable find themselves held accountable for their nefarious activities. My main point is directed to those clubs which benefited from Rangers Football Club, those whose directors sipped of the fine wines and champagnes we put on offer. Those which planned their budgets around our visits to their clubs each season. Those which supped at the cup of association with our club. And finally those which have forgotten all of this and who now join the pack of hyenas who wish to ultimately put to death our wounded body. They which have supped and dined at our expense are in the vanguard of ensuring our demise. Hypocritical at best. Treacherous at worse! We shall remember our friends, we shall never forget our foes!
  19. Davis: "Hopefully, I've repaid everyone by playing my part in teams that have won eight trophies & a European final in my years at Rangers." I thought we lost the UEFA cup final?
  20. They will hopefully have their day to answer. My post is in relation to the current outpouring of vitriol against us by clubs which have happily taken our shilling and cared not a jot from whence it came.
  21. And so it has come to pass. We are the plague, the pestulance, the curse. We must be purged, exterminated and destroyed. We have proved to be the ultimate carbuncle which must now be lanced if Scottish Football is to survive under the auspice of "sporting integrity." If "sporting integrity" is to be the benchmark of our future, let me make a plea to all clubs in Scotland. If during our "years of sin" which some view should result in title stripping, will you now return all monies your clubs made as a result of your association with Rangers Football Club? Will you approach your member associations, SPL, SFL,SFA and say,"we view the activities of Rangers Football Club to be abhorrent in the extreme and in keeping with this view such a rancid organisation should be subjected to punishment most extreme and we cannot be tarred with association therefore any monies we have made from this rancid club must be returned by us forthwith? Or will you more likely overlook the good times your clubs and cities/towns enjoyed at our expense and put the boot in like the hypoctitical rodents that you are?
  22. I would gladly pull a Rangers shirt over my head and play for the team. Unfortunately there is not such an opportunity for a 57 years old to do so. What I would have given to be a Rangers legend. Sadly whether by choice or neccessity there is a group of players who will never attain this status. I think they will suffer when they try to explain to their future generations. They shall never enjoy the welcome that True Blues do on their return to The Stadium. I am in no doubt they shall live to regret the choice they made.
  23. I don't doubt for one minute that Green's consortium came in with the best intentions to turn us around and sell on with a profit - nothing wrong with that approach as long as the club was safe. I do think now that they will have been shocked and appalled by the bile and vitriol shown to us by fellow clubs and the media. That coupled with the lack of support by the SFA and our Toy Parliamentary members - in contrast to Portsmouth FC who enjoy the support of the PM in their current situation - has finally made up their minds that the looneys have taken over the Scottish Football Asylum and it is now time to get out. Trouble is who comes in? The Blue Knights rode into the fairground but decided not to spend their money on any of the rides. We have reached a watershed in terms of our national football history and I do not know what the final outcome will be.
