  1. Can't remember who it was but during the game the commentator or co-commentator would not shut the hell up about our penalty when Naismith went down. 5 minutes after still muttering away, "not a penalty for me, not a red card" I thought fair enough someone is entitled to their opinion, but he made it at the time and yet it was clearly still circling about his bitter wee mind 5 minutes later.
  2. Aye, exactly, Fleck's just never been given a chance, certainly not 3 season's worth of chances where he's utterly failed to impress. I hope he gets his chance one of these days.
  3. He played crap and people fawned over him. He managed to get a couple of goals because of the embarassing way our players played with him, basically walking it into the box and then passing to him to "give the wee boy a goal" and he still missed the majority of them. Adam was the exception, not the rule. Getting sick of references to Adam to justify keeping/playing any young player. How many times have we seen him in his natural position? Iirc it's a handful, and he was as ineffective there as anywhere else. He may only be slightly better there than at left wing yet some people think he'll be a superstar played there, he still needs to have good footballing attributes, and I struggle to see what Fleck is meant to have. He's easily tackled, can't take a player on, almost always passes too short and doesn't have much pace. That said, Wylde isn't brilliant either, it's a who is less crap competition.
  4. I guess Rangers will miss out on my World Class signing on a free and low wages then... Was just wondering as this other guy has obviously found it, or does he say he;s emailed a general Rangers address?
  5. The initial rules for a work permit can't be changed. He has to have played 75% of international games in the last 2 years so his permit request has to be automatically rejected. It's at the appeal stage they look at other things like his wages and if he will improve the game in this country.
  6. "What's your natural position on the pitch?" I've heard Left winger, right winger, defensive mid, left back, right back...
  7. Expect to be disappointed if we sell any of them then because we'd get nowhere near those values for most of them.
  8. We got him recognition but he was as good when he joined as he was when he left, i wouldn't say we made him the player he is.
  9. Aye, because this is vastly different from us bidding low for players this entire window. Not complaining, it's good if we get a bargain but you can't greet when other club do the same, especially when it's not a silly low offer
  10. One of the big problems with our Goodwillie chase was that we wanted to stagger the payments, for all we know the Lee Wallace deal could be £1.5m over 2-3 years.
  11. There's every chance he weighs 5 stone more than when he left us, and he's not played in about 3 years, it'd be madness to sign this guy. In addition he was clearly a good player so the fact he never went to another club after us seems to me to be a choice he made.
  12. I certainly don't think either of those things so i'm glad I may not be crazy after all, what I do think is that had we made it into the CL we may have spent more money on players than we will now. I also have no plans to put great faith in this £25m figure, I doubt at the end of 5 years we could account for that exact figure, no idea whether we'll spend more or less than that, that, in my opinion will be decided by what money the club makes in those 5 years and how they perform, realistically with worst and best case scenarios I cannot fathom how anyone could believe the club will buy the same players over the next 5 years regardless of whether we bring in nothing from europe (worst case scenario) or £75m from europe (best case scenario) especially if apaprently our financial planning assumes the worst so effectively we end up with an extra £75m in the bank that we hadn't budgeted to receive. A few quid from that isn't going to be added to the squad budget?
  13. Don't really buy this, it's always going to make a difference. They say it every year yet when they don't make the CL they post a loss, doubt they budgeted to lose money. CL is a must financially for us to spend decent money year on year. Even if, and for me it's a big if, the budget hasn't changed, the players who will come have as CL group matches were one of our selling points.
  14. "Sportsdirect.com @ st.james park" but the fact everyone still calls it st.James park tells it's own story. Ibrox would still be Ibrox even if someone was daft enough to give us money to call it "The Walkers Monster Munch Arena"
  15. True, there are a lot of fans in the middle that criticise where it's due but alongside them are 2 other groups, those that moan all the time about everything and those that would sit by saying nothing whilst the club collapsed for the sake of staying "loyal." Maybe McCoist and Whyte need a bit of tough love, people actually telling them that what we've seen so far is nowhere near good enough.
  16. Hopefully, but it's far from guaranteed and that his name is McCoist will only save him up to a point, it wont have any effect on how good a manager he turns out to be.
  17. Mixed messages on that one, front loaded £25m over 5 years, an extra £15m if McCoist needs it, then needing to sell Bougherra to bring in Goodwillie and Verhoek, doesn't tie up.
  18. Priorities maybe? Papac is not a player that's going to be around for years to come but he does a decent job at left back yet Whyte's biggest spend thus far is on cover/competition for that position. Sorting out our first 11 would have been a better start. There's definitely a big element of knee jerk reaction to the result tonight, I include all my posts in that, but there's also truth in it and whilst it's good that we've extended deals for McGregor and Davis (but not Whittaker) these guys were already at the club, our focus should have been on bringing in the players needed, before the european deadline.
  19. I'm not suggesting we're a European heavyweight or anything like that, I realise we've fallen down a bit but we're still far beyond a team where someone should be learning their managerial trade. We are Rangers, not Clyde ffs. Whyte has been pressured into giving McCoist the role, perhaps contractually or for fear letting him go wouldn't have been the best start with the fans, but the decision to appoint McCost was made at our lowest point financially, it wasn't anything to do with any nonsense about putting a ledgend in charge it was because we couldn't afford anyone else. Whyte apparently changes that with his money.
  20. A team like Rangers shouldn't be getting used as a learning curve, we should have people in charge that already know what they're doing. Fans moaning doesn't put us out of competitions, inaction and incompetence does.
  21. I agree, something is not right. We're just back from pre-season so should maybe be lacking match sharpness but instead the players look utterly lethargic and unable to work with a ball at their feet.
  22. Totally true but you can't say it, you're not a real fan if you point out that it's madness to give a bumper contract to Whittaker, that McCoist doesn't know what he's doing and that Whyte's priority has been improving the fast food rather than signing the players we needed. Can't see us getting the players we need now, one of the few things we can give good players is a crack at the Champions League and trips to Barcelona or Milan, can't see Cuellar coming up only to play against the diddy teams of the SPL.
  23. Reads like some amateur nonsense off of a blog or the website of a carer that let old people in his care die.
  24. He never has, absolute shocker handing him a contract like that.
