Easy to replace now
Sorry Op, but that’s just the fact of the matter.
It could be argued that we’ve only had 1 goalkeeper since 2006 that fits the bill as a Rangers no1. And that’s McGregor. So maybe not that easy to replace.

Watch this earlier. Wee Billy McDonald trying to do Gazza. Unfortunately it doesn’t show the tackle from wee Billy that started it all…. Watch from about 7.55 if you don’t want to watch the full vid.

He was, he won’t be and I don’t think anyone wants to see a still of Samaras when they click on the thread.
Who would you replace him with? Do you have anyone in mind? I still feel we missed out on Sam Johnstone last season on a free. Think he would have been really good… I’m struggling to think of anyone who would give what we need. Also dubious of going down the foreign route.

Silly thread. To use brilliance and McGregor in the last two years is wrong.
If you want to talk about the past, then sure, but he should have been replaced two seasons ago. We have been too slow to address this issue.
Not for me. It is a thread based on how good Mcgregor has been throughout… not based on only the last 18 months. It is also showing what kind of quality we need moving on from him…
Everyone knows at the latest, last season should have been his last and we have been slow to address the issue. But we are where we are now and our keeper for next season must at least be on a par with McGregor at his best.

Not relevant to the here and now though is it
It’s relevant because we need someone of that class to take over next season. And the thread in part is to pay homage to a great Rangers player.

He has been absolutely terrible this season, not sure how he will be that hard to replace.
It’s about replacing him with the quality that we need… that’s the hard part… Ok he has had a disappointing last 18 months but not as bad as some make out. previous to that he was top class. The 55 season he was incredible.

He's not been that guy for at least two maybe three seasons now.
Any decent keeper would be an upgrade on the options we have right now.
I am aware of that. He has been an outstanding goalie for us and what we replace him with has to be a lot better than decent.

Think he’ll be pretty easy to replace from where he is now.
I don’t think so… but it’s absolutely vital that whoever comes in has to be solid. Of all the signings this summer, the goalkeeper is the most important.

Why?
Because it’s an absolute bore fest… absolute, unadulterated bore fest… complete and utter pish. I’ve heard of the long and winding road… but this is way beyond that. Quite shocking just how pish it is.

lol. Ok.
Always get a chuckle when folk moan I’m making a thread about me while the only contribution they make to the thread is literally about me.
Bloody knew it . You didn’t let me down

Taken over by discussing the topic? Even the poster I was ‘debating’ with laughed at the suggestion Id made the thread about me.
As I said, if you want to move the thread on, contribute something rather than moaning that others are posting.
You were not discussing the topic yesterday (hall of fame) but fair enough. I don’t usually have a moan. Think you bring the worst out in me.
Best get back on topic then, before I contradict myself. That will be the last word……………………………

What does that even mean?
If you want to move the topic on, contribute something other than whining that someone is posting
The Hall of Fame thread was taken over by you yesterday because it appeared to me that you couldn’t accept that you might be wrong (just my opinion of course). And it looks to me that this one could be going the same way. Just don’t think the need is there to go on and on and on.

I don't so please enligten me
You are allowed to be wrong sometimes… just in case you didn’t know. You also don’t need to always have the last word and you don’t need to take over threads like this one or the one from the other day.

For fucksake… not again 😩

Honest to fuck… Just leave it or start another thread and talk about it there…

Not saying I agree with it but if the likes of Bill Struth havent been inducted I can't see it changing.
I hope it does change. Otherwise it’s going to get even more watered down than it is already.

Scottish legendary goalkeeper Billy Thompson has passed away aged 64… Another taken way too early

Beale is also to take some of the blame… he stated a few weeks back that McLaughlin is needed for certain games because he is better at coming for crosses. And since then McLaughlin has been found out more than once on cross balls…
I think McLaughlin now feels he has to come for cross balls as often has he can because of what the manager has said.
I don’t remember him struggling too much in his previous games, but since this comment he has… If this is the case then it proves what some folk are saying about his mental strength.

Absolutely, they were just a class above anyone else. As time moves on I feel more and more privileged to have watched them every week.
