  1. I think Tom Hateley would be a good signing and would improve as we go through the leagues.I would imagine wages would not be too high either. We have some players we could lose from midfield and defence who Hateley is better than and with his versatility he would be good for the squad in my opinion. The problem is we have probably signed too many players and have a too bloated squad to make this transfer feasible.
  2. Do not give this site links the article reads Today's Daily Record carries a magnificent piece of polemic by sports writer Keith Jackson about its coverage of the continuing crisis facing Rangers football club. In fact, once put into historical context, it turns out to be a self-serving piece of revisionism. It makes no reference to the paper's 180 degree turn. The Record's record in its coverage of the lengthy financial shenanigans at Rangers shows that it has nothing to shout about. According to Jackson's account, the paper has been at the forefront of exposing dodgy dealings down the years. In January 2011, he writes, the Record "revealed the truth" about the "ruinous financial chicanery" of the then chairman, Craig Whyte. I think he meant January 2012. But that's a mere slip. The point is that Jackson, the supposed exposer of Whyte, had previously portrayed him as the club's great saviour. In November 2010, for example, Jackson described Whyte as the "financial whizzkid from Motherwell", a "high roller" who had become "Scotland's youngest self-made millionaire." In a breathless piece of puffery, Jackson told of the venture capitalist's exploits that made him "millions from playing the markets" and able to control "a vast business empire". Whyte's wealth was "off the radar", wrote Jackson, and enabled him to acquire a castle in Grantown-on-Spey, "one of the most historic buildings in Scotland." Jackson and his then boss, Jim Traynor, depicted Whyte as a man of considerable wealth and thereby gave confidence to the club's fans that he was a good bet to become its owner. At that time, and afterwards when Whyte acquired the club, the Record (in company with other newspapers) failed to investigate whether the fanciful claims about his riches stood up to scrutiny. As Channel 4's reporter, Alex Thomson, revealed, in July 2011, Traynor even went to so far as to submit an article about Whyte for Whyte's approval prior to publication. In February 2012, Whyte was forced to put Rangers into administration. And a month later Whyte was deemed "not a fit and proper person" to own a football club following an inquiry on behalf of the Scottish Football Association. He was also fined £200,000. But this sad saga runs on and on. Traynor quit the Record in December last year in order to become PR of Rangers, having been appointed by Whyte's successor, Charles Green. Four months later, the board of the reconstituted Rangers entity (Rangers International Football Club) issued a statement saying Green and the club's commercial director, Imran Ahmad, were to be the subject of an inquiry following allegations about their management of the club. And Green, now a "consultant" with Rangers, could possibly be ejected from that position too, a claim reported by the Record now that it has cast off its Ibrox cheerleading role. Or is it secretly cheerleading for a group within the club? Is it just not possible for it to be entirely impartial? Anyway, one single, simple fact emerges from all this - Rangers football club got into trouble a long time ago and the mainstream media, whether by commission or omission, failed to do its job. Rather than hold the people in charge to account, it acted as a spin-doctor. Belatedly, the Record shows signs of realising the error of its ways (without apologising to its readers for those errors). Jackson wrote today that Rangers is "a club which continues to self-harm spectacularly." If only he had written that three years or more ago. Then again, Traynor was his boss at the time. It's no wonder, perhaps, that the former journalistic colleagues have fallen out of late.
  3. Daly has some good attributes that will endear him to the fans bravery, strength, determination and he can play a bit too a wee bit in the Hately/Prso mould with his strongest attributes.Jon will do just fine for us and so long as he gives his all(which I am confident he will)he will have few detractors.
  4. Gordon Ramsey seems proud to be a bear and whether he is embellishing his Rangers career or not I could not care less.If he wants to invest and help us strengthen that would be spot on too.
  5. I for one am glad we are standing up for ourselves more but we need to keep this going and challenge poor/biased/inaccurate reporting at all costs. If lies are told often enough and go unchallenged then the majority of people will begin to accept this as the truth. The mhedia may peddle the "Rangers are being petty" line which if that is their opinion then fine. But perhaps the mhedia may actually look at themselves in the mirror and they will see that they are reaping what they sow.
  6. Thanks for sharing and I know sources need to be protected but are there any other details you can supply?Interesting stuff.
  7. Stevie G and Frank Lampard would be good testimonials to go and see hope it happens.
  8. Had we not signed players like Kyle and Sandaza this season and Boyd was available I would say yes.As things are we are going to win the league we are in and don't need Boyd to achieve this.I would prefer we use the players we already have and make the most of the opportunity to give talented youngsters game time.
  9. The reconstruction is a important issue and as such should not be rushed or bulldozed through.Every club should have a say as it will effect every club likewise all clubs should consult their fans as they are the ones that pay to go to the games week in week out.It is healthy to have a range of options and proposals rather than just this 12-12-18 that the powers that be seem to be trying to force on to all clubs.
  10. It is loyalty and also not being fair weather fans why attendances have been continually good. If the treatment doled out to Rangers was supposed to knock the stuffing out of the fans and make them walk away then it has failed. The only thing we are defying are the thoughts of those who had written us off.I don't doubt the treatment we have endured has helped us get the battle fever back on but ultimately it is the love of Rangers that is the main motivation of us.
  11. I love this free ticket myth that fans of other clubs try to peddle. To me it shows that they expected our fans to walk away but as super Ally said "we don't do walking away".Haters are going to hate and their obvious jealousy amuses me.Nice to read a piece that actually talks up the Rangers brand.
  12. I generally like Rpgs and strategy games and would suggest any of the Suikoden games for ps1 or 2,any game in the shining series shining force 2 ect.Chrono trigger and Chrono cross are top rpgs too.For strategy the heroes of might and magic series was top notch.Mount and blade series on pc is rather good too.
  13. Charles Greens remains credible and is actually more credible than the journalists who try to detract from him.A lot of times the journalist pack will attack the man rather than give credible or logical reasons why Charles Green is wrong. If Green is forthright and tells as he sees it he is "playing to the gallery".Journalists and reporters never distort or omit any information or sensationalise news and are completely fair and balanced,if they did then surely they too would be " playing to the gallery".I may be biased as a Rangers fan but I have a lot of time for Charles Green and what his consortium are doing for Rangers. You always should protect your investment and if stating facts and your opinion put some people's noses out of joint then so be it.Bending over and taking it would lose creditabilty among the most important people the supporters.
  14. I see what you mean, didn't at the time I posted. If you ever look at any Rangers article in the Sun the Sun usually run a shite or misleading story about us and there are loads of mhanks commenting. But not the best analagy from me.
  15. Ditch the embargo or give us the withheld transfer money can't have it both ways.I suspect the embargo would go before they even considered paying transfer fees. On the Sun link sadd tims commenting on Rangers they are like flies to shite.
  16. There are quite a few on pokerstrategy.com under poker tools like equilab, icm light(sure this is for tournament play) some sights like paddy power poker and party poker have a wee download that gives you pot odds tells you your probability of having best hand ect. Most sites you can also review hand histories how often you bet\check\fold.
  17. Have not played poker in quite a while(due to lack of funds) but I have some simple suggestions anh hope they help. 1 Study poker take it serious and pay attention at the tables also try think from your opponents point of view what story you are telling them with the way you are playing the hand. 2 Bankroll management is very important websites like pokerstrategy.com are good for learning about this as well as poker. You can also get some start up cash if you study and do the quiz.Use theboydave for recommend a friend if you do. 3 Learn different variations of poker not just texas hold emNl, but limit, 7card stud, razz, deuce seven lowball and omaha.By knowing more variations you may be able to play more juicer games. 4 If you are serious do read up and use some poker software to analyse your hands after a session to plug leaks in your game. 5 Mindset is very important sometimes you will get bad beats from a donkey who played a hand or more badly but this is variance, you make money in long run.
  18. Hope the person in question can pull through the Rangers fans and your family are willing your recovery.
  19. Positive sounding news for now. If the ruling goes in our favour and we get a few million(even if well below players true value) this is a good result in my opinion.I would imagine we have not budgeted for any funds due for winning this case so I wonder what any awarded funds would be used for.
  20. Good read and cheers for link in 2nd post good luck with your blogs.
  21. Good read I imagine this 12-12-18 set up will do more harm than good as it is disregarding the most important people the customers.
  22. Division 3 is not the walkover some folk thought it would be but with that said Ian Black and some others should be influencing the game more.Super Ally signed him and must have thought Black would do us a turn.It is still early on in Ian Black's Rangers career but he has to improve and Super needs to find out how to get the best out of him. There is a quite good player bursting to get out in my opinion.
  23. I think boycott is a must here.Attending the match and saying you love Rangers more than you hate Dundee united misses the point.Of course we love Rangers more than we hate other teams that goes without saying.I wholeheartedly believe we must make a stand and it is more honourable to send a don't rely on us to subsidise you anymore message than it is to attend.I like the idea of fans outside supporting but not giving Dundee united a penny.I have no grudge with any fan that goes as I am sure they are doing what they think is best. They are still a Rangers fan same as me but with a different opinion.
  24. Copyright of Jim Traynor he calls the Spl the Sunday pub league. My suggestion is calling the league the Std(Scottish top division) Std infectious fun could be the slogan.
